MISSION & VISION NIGHT

All current Trinity School parents are invited to attend Mission & Vision Night on Wednesday, September 14, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Mission & Vision Night is hosted periodically as an opportunity for learning and discussion between parents and school leadership. More details will be shared in a later email.

FIELD DAY

When

Friday, September 16

Where

Clay Township Park, located on Laurel Road, west of 933, between Darden and Brick Roads. Enter by the north end driveway and meet at the main pavilion.

Arrival & Dismissal

Students should arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. Dismissal is at 2:15 p.m.

What to Bring

Please have your child bring a water bottle labeled with his or her name. Sun protection (hats, sunblock, etc.) is recommended. Lunch is provided, so there is no need for your child to bring lunch unless he or she has special dietary needs.

Dress Code

Dress for all grades is casual (jeans, shorts, and t-shirts are acceptable). Please make sure that your child is dressed tastefully (e.g., no torn or tattered clothing, no tank tops, no inappropriate pictures or messages on t-shirts, etc.).

Attendance & Cancellation

Field Day is a regular school day and attendance is expected. However, if there is a medical reason your child cannot participate in sports, please let the front office know at [email protected]. In these cases, we may arrange for your child to help run events, keep score, or participate in some other non-athletic capacity. There are no classes or faculty present at the Greenlawn campus on Field Day. If Field Day is canceled due to inclement weather, we will notify families by 7:00 a.m. via email.

Permission Form

A general permission agreement for Field Day and field trips is included among required forms during our enrollment process. We must have this signed form on file in order for your child to participate in Field Day.

CLUB FAIR

Each fall Trinity School organizes a Club Fair during the last 15 minutes of the school day to allow students to explore the after-school activities available. Clubs are student-led and teacher-supervised after-school groups dedicated to special interest activities such as art, drama, or film. Club Fair will be held on Thursday, September 8, at 2:45 p.m. Students are invited to explore and sign up for the clubs they would like to join. Club leaders will communicate meeting places and times to interested students.

STUDENT LIFE COMMITTEE

Our first Student Life Committee meeting will be held at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, in the Old South Cafeteria. The Student Life Committee is a group open to interested students in grades 10-12. The committee is designed to provide a forum for students to collaborate with faculty on building a vibrant culture together. Breakfast treats will be provided.

SCHOOL PICTURES

School pictures will take place on Friday, September 23. Lifetouch Photography will be on campus in the morning to take an individual portrait of each student in all grades. Students should dress in uniform as usual. There will also be an opportunity for re-takes on October 31st during lunch for students who are absent or request one. Trinity School uses these photos for student IDs, as well as for the yearbook. Your child's photo will also be made available to purchase directly from Lifetouch Photography. We will send a separate email with instructions for online ordering once they are available for purchase.

PIZZA LUNCH

Our next Pizza Lunch for students will take place on September 29. This year we will be receiving all pizza orders and payments digitally through Eventlink. Be on the lookout for more information and the opportunity to place your child's order online.

VOLUNTEER NEEDS

If you have not yet signed up to volunteer for an event, we invite you to visit our SignUpGenius list and find an event that works with your schedule. We ask that families serve at a minimum of two events during the course of the school year. In October our staff will review the list and reach out to any families who have not yet signed up.

SCHOOL DAY REMINDERS

WATER BOTTLES & EATING UTENSILS

Please remind your child to bring his or her own water bottle to school every day, as well as any eating utensils needed for lunch. The front office does not have cups or disposable eating utensils on hand.

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

Please use the west side (southbound) parking lane on Greenlawn Avenue during drop-off and pick-up. Avoid double-parking, dropping students off on the opposite side of the street (so that they have to cross the street during busy traffic times to reach campus), and parking on the east side of the street.

Students whose last name begins with the letter A-L should be picked up between the drive-in gate and the pedestrian gate on Greenlawn. Students whose last name begins with the letter M-Z should be picked up to the south of the pedestrian gate on Greenlawn (toward Jefferson). Students who are part of a carpool should wait in the location of their driver's last name. Senior parking is between the drive-in gate and Colfax Avenue. Junior parking and senior overflow is on Esther Street starting at Jefferson heading north.

STUDY HALL

Study Hall is from 3:30-4:55 p.m., Monday through Thursday in the Old South Cafeteria. When picking up your child from Study Hall, use the side door on the north side of the building as our front office staff is not available after office hours (4:00 p.m.) to let you in the front entrance. Please bear in mind that students are dismissed from Study Hall at 4:55 p.m. and the building closes promptly at 5:00 p.m.

ABSENCES, TARDIES, AND EARLY DEPARTURE

If your child is going to be late or absent, please inform the front office as soon as possible (preferably by 8:15 a.m. on the day of the absence) by emailing [email protected]. If your child is going to leave at any time during the day before 3:00 p.m., please have him or her bring a parent note stating the time of departure to Morning Prayer, to be signed by the dean. When it is time to leave, your child may wait at the front office for you to come inside for pick-up or call the office once you arrive at the front gate.

DRIVING WAIVER REMINDER

If you have not yet done so, please sign and return the Driving Waiver for your child. Per Mr. Staffelbach's August 15 email, we are asking that all Trinity School parents sign and return this form at the first available opportunity. You may turn in a physical copy to the front office, email a digital copy (PDF or photo) to [email protected], or upload a digital copy through your Eventlink account. This form can also be found on the Parents page of the website, and in our Eventlink account. Thank you!

UPDATE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION

We are working on an updated School Directory for the 2022-23 school year. If there has been a change in your family's contact information (whether an address, phone number, or email address) that differs from what we have on file, please email [email protected] with the update to ensure that your contact information appears correctly in the 2022-23 School Directory.

EXTRACURRICULAR OPPORTUNITY AT NOTRE DAME

The Notre Dame Children's Choir is a free, after-school music education program for children offered by the Sacred Music Academy at the University of Notre Dame. They are currently registering new singers ages 5-18 through Tuesday, September 6, for the 2022-23 season. Trinity School families wishing to take advantage of this opportunity may learn more from the information sheet attached here, or by visiting the NDCC website.
