New Zoning Ordinances Passed
At the November 1 Council meeting, Council unanimously adopted zoning text amendments focused on private parking garages. The adopted amendments revise and clarify the zoning regulations to be more flexible, streamlined, and modern. The adopted Zoning Text Amendments also include ancillary changes to other regulations, including fences, to ensure consistency throughout the Code. The changes should make it easier for our residents to invest and improve their properties.

Recycle Your Campaign Signs
In order to divert waste from the landfill and promote reusing, upcycling, and recycling, the Cleveland Heights Green Team, in partnership with the Cuyahoga Solid Waste District, are collecting campaign signs through November 14. Clearly marked drop boxes are located at the front of the following collection points: Dave’s Cedar-Fairmount, Dave’s Severance, Zagara’s on Lee Road, Heights Library Coventry Branch, and Save-A-Lot on Noble Road. If residents are unable to reach any of the collection points, please email greenteam@chgreenteam.org and the signs will be picked up. Signs can also be dropped off at the City’s Service Garage on Superior Road. Place your signs in the box next to the front door.

Deadline to File for Child Tax Credit is November 15
The Child Tax Credit in the American Rescue Plan provides the largest child tax credit and, as of July 15, most working families have been automatically receiving monthly payments of $250 or $300 per child without needing to take any action. The Children’s Defense Fund reports that if you haven’t been automatically receiving these monthly payments, the deadline to sign up is November 15. And those who are eligible for the credit but don’t sign up by the deadline will still be able to claim the full credit of $3600 per child by filing your taxes next year.
