The Glades Initiative's Food Pantry is available to anyone in need. Residents may come in once per week at any time during the hours listed below. In a “Pantry of Choice”, you choose the foods that you want and need (within guidelines).

Be a Volunteer Tutor - Literacy Coalition Volunteer Tutor Training
The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County is seeking volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with elementary school students during school hours at selected elementary schools throughout Palm Beach County, including Belle Glade and Canal Point. Time required: 90 minutes twice a week or partner with another volunteer to tutor 90 minutes once a week. Training is required and is provided by the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County.

PBC Senior Centers to Give Away Free Groceries at Open House Events
The Palm Beach County Food Bank has partnered with Palm Beach County Community Services Department and the Division of Senior and Veteran Services to provide free grocery bags full of nonperishable grocery items to all seniors (age 60+) who attend one of the open house events hosted by the senior centers. Grocery bags are limited to one bag per household, while supplies last; grocery items are nonperishable goods that may vary by location.

This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. In Need of Masks? Contact The Glades Initiative, Inc.
If you or people you know need masks, The Glades Initiative has masks and will share them with anyone in the Glades who needs them. These are the white two-ply reusable washable masks given by the health department. Call or come by to pick them up as long as supplies last.
If you are with a group of vulnerable people and need more than 20, call us first and we will do our best to help you get what you need.
