Skip-Gen travel gives you time to connect

and make memories.

โ€Š

Skip-Gen travel, also called gramping, is a growing travel trend of grandparents and grandkids traveling together without the childrenโ€™s parents

('skipping the middle generation').

Whatโ€™s fueling the Skip-Gen travel trend?

For one thing, money. An AARP report noted that these trips will mostly be paid for by the grandparentsโ€”which makes sense when you consider that many in the Baby Boomer generation are now retired and more financially stable.

They have both the time and the means to take vacations and want to bring their grandkids along to spend quality time with them.

Not all grandparents are retired...and not everybody has grandchildren.

But many still want to honor a special birthday, a graduation or any other excuse to share an adventure and make memories with their grandchildren,

grandnieces or grandnephews.

Skip-Gen vacations can be a win-win:

๐Ÿ˜ Grandparents get extra time that theyโ€™d otherwise miss with grandkids

๐Ÿ˜Š Parents get a nice break from parenting and can build in some alone time

๐Ÿ˜Ž Grandkids have an opportunity to bond and have fun with grandparents!

Theme parks or national parks - what's the preference?

Consider the age and personality of the grandchild when planning a Skip-Gen trip

that might require some patience and an interest in the adventure.

  • If you have several grandchildren, you might want to group them by age when planning a trip or consider your energy level and budget when trip planning and save the Skip-Gen trip for special occasions.
