MESSAGE FROM MAYOR PRIBONIC

Dear Residents,

Many frequently express to me that they want opportunities to gather together in our community to celebrate. We are excited to once again present the Stow Summer Sunset Blast, a family-oriented community event that is free and open to the entire community! Summer Sunset Blast celebrates the Stow community with over 40 local organizations, food vendors, and family-friendly activities including festival food, kids' activities, inflatables, games, music, beer (including craft beer from Missing Mountain), live bands, and the best grand finale fireworks show in the area

The two-day event is scheduled for September 3-4, 2022 from 5pm-10pm each night. Admission is free. Attendees will want to bring money to purchase delicious festival food and beverages from food truck vendors Chick-fil-A, Dr. Hibachi, Fabi’s Taco Truck, Menches Brothers, and Swensons, just to name a few. The UNLIMITED FUN ZONE will include kids' inflatables, a petting zoo, rock wall, and a mechanical bull, all for a $5 wristband. This is one of our best events of the year and there is something for everyone. We want to see as many residents as possible come out and enjoy themselves.

As I wrote about last month, the City has engaged a consulting team to complete a feasibility study for a multi-purpose, multi-generational indoor facility. The feasibility study will provide the City with key data and information on the market and demand for services, develop operational costs, and determine capital investment for potential construction. A survey was recently completed, and data is being compiled. Thank you once again for stepping up to the plate and providing your feedback! The survey results will aid the City of Stow in taking a community-driven approach to making decisions that will enrich the future of our City and positively affect the quality of life we provide to our residents. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me regarding the process.

In addition to the progress on the feasibility study, I am excited to share that we continue to invest in our community, making steady progress on improvements and initiatives. Highlights include:

·        Installation of two NEW playgrounds completed

·        Site Preparation for Skip Playground underway

·        2022 Road Resurfacing Program underway

·        Site work at the Hanson Property

·        Parks Master Plan study completed

I pledge to continue my accessibility to our residents and businesses. Your ideas, input, and feedback are so very beneficial in understanding the concerns of our community. I have the best interest of Stow at heart and I hope you do as well.

Sincerely,

John Pribonic
