We are Thankful for You!

During this season of Thanksgiving, we at Audio-Reader are deeply thankful for friends like you. Your support makes our services possible, helping to provide vital resources to individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or print-disabled. Together, we’re creating a world with more connection and accessibility. Thank you for making a difference!

Audio-Reader's Year-End Campaign will kick off soon! Look for a letter from Audio-Reader to hit your mailbox in December. Demand for Audio-Reader services continues to grow! Over the past year, in addition to our 24/7 news and information service, with your support we have also:

  • Partnered with Meals on Wheels to make regional menus accessible in audio format
  • Worked with three different high schools in the region to provide audio description of the school's plays
  • Accompanied listeners to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival to describe everything taking place
  • Collaborated with the Nelson Atkins Museum to provide audio description for an exhibit

We hope you will consider supporting Audio-Reader during our Year-End Campaign and continue making a difference in the lives of thousands of listeners who depend on Audio-Reader!

Why I Give

For Elinor, volunteering for Audio-Reader wasn’t just about giving back to her community - it was personal. “My father lost almost all of his vision later in life," she shared. “He was an avid reader and missed that part of his life dearly.”

In honor of her father, Elinor began volunteering with AR as a way to pay it forward. “Audio-Reader is a terrific service for people who are print disabled. If you want to find an organization where you can have an immediate impact, this is one of them."
