Elinor Brown, the new Executive Director of the Logan County Chamber (center) recently presented the Business of the Week honor to Noah’s Arc Welding and Owner Noah Dee, Dominic Austin, Nathan Kilgore and Meah Billinger.

...Noah Dee owner of Noah’s Arc Welding LLC started as a mobile welding service in March of 2014. This has been a dream in the making for over 20 years for Noah and his wife Bree. They started off with an old beat-up 1997 truck with a welder. In 2066, they upgraded to a newer truck.

...In 2018, they started to build their welding shop with a concrete pad poured. They stood the beams up early 2019 and finished the building mid-2019. They opened their shop doors late 2019. They started off with a break and press, and 3 welders. Since then, they have added 2 hoists and recently acquired a CNC plasma cutting table.

......They are looking forward to expanding their building in the near future to further serve their clients.

Noah’s Arc Welding LLC specializes in metal repairs of all kinds and any metal customized work. They say, “your imagination is what we strive to bring to life.”

Business Foundations Technical Assistance

The Business Foundations Technical Assistance program provides technical assistance and small grants to Colorado small businesses to help businesses legally establish themselves. The program includes 3 required training paths for businesses to complete and receive a certification.

Cannabis Business Technical Assistance

This program provides foundational knowledge to launching and growing a business in the cannabis industry through online, free, and on-demand curriculum covering topics from marketing to finance and more. Registration is open and accepted on a rolling basis.

Rural Jump-Start Program

The Rural Jump-Start Program incentivizes new businesses start in or move into rural, economically distressed areas and hire new employees. To be eligible, businesses cannot compete with similar businesses in the county or adjacent economically distressed county. The program provides both a grant and tax credit to businesses. Applications are open and accepted on a rolling basis.

Employee Ownership Tax CreditThis tax credit is available to Colorado-headquartered businesses to cover up to 50% of a qualified business’ conversion costs for use on their state income taxes. Applications are open and accepted on a rolling basis.

Four leaders in the Colorado Small Business Development Center (CSBDC) network were recognized for their tireless efforts to support Colorado’s small businesses throughout the pandemic. The America’s Small Business Development Center (ASBDC) network selected Brian Estrada, director of Southern Colorado SBDC, for a 2022 State Star award and bestowed three 2020-2021 40 Under 40 awards on young SBDC leaders.

    Join us as Saturday from 11 a.m.to 2 p.m. as we welcome author Dr. Timothy Kloberdanz to the OLM.

  Dr. Koberdanz will be promoting his book "Once Upon the River Platte." Koberdanz grew up on a farm along the South Platte River in northeastern Colorado.

  While still in his teens, he traveled the entire lengths of both the South Platte and North Platte Rivers, from their sources deep in the Rocky Mountains, to their eventual merging into a single wide river in Nebraska.

  Kloberdanz earned academic degrees at the University of Colorado (Boulder), Colorado State University (Fort Collins), and Indiana University (Bloomington).

  Although he is “retired,” Dr. Kloberdanz continues to do ethnographic and literary research in the Great Plains region and in other parts of the American West.
