Tips to Keep Your Home Safe for All
March 2022
Happy Spring!
Happy Spring says it all! We just 'sprung' ahead with daylight savings time and as the weather starts to change, the daffodils are starting to come up, more and more of us will be getting outside after months of being stuck inside because of the cold weather we had.

Making the yard safe is just as important as ensuring the home is safe for our loved ones.

  1. Eliminate tripping hazards - identify areas that pose tripping, slipping and other fall risks. Note area's that are uneven and could benefit from extra soil to create level ground or pavers or check that stepping stones are not too high or loose.
  2. Proper clothing - choose light, breathable clothing; closed toe shoes create the greatest control and prevent problems like stings, bites and splinters on the feet.
  3. Sun protection - springtime sun is just as much a risk for the skin. Ensure that your loved one wears sunscreen anytime they will be outside for than than a few minutes.
  4. Prevent pests - pests such as mosquitoes, gnats and wasps can ruin the fun of time outdoors.
  5. Address wandering risks - if your loved ones are at a risk of wandering behavior then look into GPS wristbands, shoes or pendants that sends an alert if your loved one move outside of a specific area.
  6. Add ample lighting - make sure porch lights are sufficiently bright and consider adding solar lights along the walkway and throughout the garden to provide extra illumination in the evening hours.

Hope this helps,

Why Choose Home Healthsmith...
Linda and Bill,

Wayne and I would like to thank you for the surprise gift card to Publick House. I am sure we will enjoy your thoughtfulness.

More so, what we especially would like to thank you for is all the important information you shared, all the visual showroom pieces to see/feel, and all our questions you answered. From the minute we walked in the door (you know...the one next to the LARGE company truck we "missed"...talk about blinders...) and we were met by Anthony, through our discussions, and having the chance to meet Mike, we felt
very comfortable. Your clean, uncluttered showroom...not to mention the delicious coffee!...are a visual dlisplay of your business ethics.

It was a pleasure to visit your business...
Thank you again...
