Chapter Update
March 15, 2022
Fundraising should not be about raising funds (wait…what?)
A few of us also need to raise our sights
Without question, fundraising is an important, noble practice that allows nonprofits to do a lot of good in the world.

But if fundraisers’ goal is to raise funds at all costs, we’re missing the point – and maybe doing harm in the process.

Honor Philanthropists and Fundraisers
Call for Nominations for NPD Awards
Nominations are now being accepted for National Philanthropy Day 2022. We are looking forward to celebrating the incredible work local philanthropists, organizations, and professional fundraisers are accomplishing in Southeastern Wisconsin.

National Philanthropy Day is the special day set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the impact of philanthropy in the world around us. It's a day to honor those people active in the philanthropic community who have made our lives, our communities, and our world a better place.

AFP Friendraising
Members Only
The last two years have made it challenging for those of us in the business of building relationships. Many of you have shared that you are missing the one-on-one interactions and new connections that happen at in-person events. That’s why we’re introducing a new opportunity to interact with fellow fundraisers.

Sign up by March 30 to be randomly paired with another AFP member. Once you’re matched, it’ll be up to you to schedule a time to connect sometime in the next couple of months. This can be done virtually or in person.

These conversations are intended to be a “friendraiser,” not a mentor/mentee relationship. They are an informal opportunity for you to build your professional network and make connections.

Demystifying the Development Plan
Thursday, March 17 @ Noon
Development plans – ugh, am I right? The prospect is daunting and who has the time? Join us for Tamara Pacada’s “Demystifying the Development Plan” to discuss the value of having a plan to help you focus your work and increase gift revenue success. Besides, it could save your job as you complete the tasks that you and your superiors (staff, board) agreed to whether or not the hoped-for outcome was accomplished. Tamara will provide a roadmap of the necessary components and real world examples. Bring your questions!
