Sounds of Summer RECAP

On Friday, August 19th, Southern Caregiver Resource Center hosted our third annual Sounds of Summer Benefit Concert. We celebrated 35 years of serving family caregivers with live music, delicious dining, auction and raffle prizes, and a long-awaited reunion with our community. Countless hours of planning and preparation were more than rewarded, and we are so grateful to have shared this experience with our staff, clients, partners, and friends.

SCRC'S Caregiver of the Month Spotlight: Lupe

SCRC would like to recognize Lupe as our August Caregiver of the Month!

Lupe is a long-distance caregiver for her grandmother who lives in Ensenada, Mexico. Her grandmother was diagnosed with diabetes and heart disease. As a long-distance caregiver, there are limited opportunities to visit and physically be there to support her grandmother with everyday activities. Most of her support includes financial and emotional support as she calls her grandmother daily to check on her.

“As a long-distance caregiver, it is important to get in touch and stay in touch with a loved one. It is also crucial to plan your visit with an aging grandparent or parent, those chats and visits truly make a difference on your loved ones.”

Are you a family caregiver? Share your story! We want to recognize your dedication and love by nominating you as our caregiver of the month
