A Special Thank You
FCEP and FEMF work together to be the most progressive emergency medicine organization and provider of continuing education in Florida.

Our members, communities, and organizations have seen seemingly endless challenges since March 2020 and yet, we have sustained our operations and continued to provide high-quality education, resources, and valuable information to emergency medicine providers on the front lines of this pandemic. This is due in large part to the continued support we receive from our corporate partners.

As we celebrate our 50th anniversary and look ahead at the next 50 years, we want to thank you for your partnership and ongoing support of our members, mission, and vision!

Your support is critical and we could not do this without you.

EM Dignitary:
“If I encounter patients in the LGBTQ+ community who need or want to hear about hospice care, I want to be the one to escort them into our services with the utmost dignity and make sure they get the special care and attention they need,” says Nancy Auster, RN, an admission liaison at VITAS® Healthcare.

For more than three decades, VITAS has maintained an active, visible presence as an LGBTQ+-friendly hospice provider and source of community support throughout Florida, from its early 1980s care protocols for HIV/AIDS patients, to ongoing grief support in the aftermath of the 2016 Orlando Pulse Nightclub shooting.

VITAS provides education, resources, training, and grief support groups for the LGBTQ+ population. For healthcare professionals, free VITAS continuing education addresses best practices for LGBTQ+ care and ways to overcome patients’ unique concerns about medical care.
