Dear Mountain Laurel Families,

In order to plan for a safe reopening of our school, the MLWS Covid Taskforce met yesterday, 3/30.

To be sure we have given enough time to minimize the potential for asymptomatic spread from the recent covid outbreak we are pushing our return date out by a day. We also require PCR testing prior to everyone's return. This includes all teachers, staff, and students. Please read on for more details.

Return to school date; Wednesday 7th April - usual hours

Testing:

Every student, teacher, and member of staff must provide documentation of a negative PCR covid test result in order to return to school on Wednesday, 7th April. This documentation must be sent to the school by 7am on Wednesday 7th. Without it, there will be no admittance to our campus.

Type:
  • PCR test only. A rapid test is not acceptable.
  • Please do not use Pixel by Lab Corps as this test is not for children.

When:
  • Tests must be taken on or after Friday 2nd April

Please Send Test Results by 7 am Wednesday, April 7th to:

Who is Exempt from Testing:
  • Prior positive PCR or antibody test within 90 days you do not need to take a test.
  • For Teachers/Staff who have been vaccinated, if it is 2 weeks after the 2nd dose or 2 weeks after the J&J vaccine, you do not need to take a test.

***Weekly Testing to Continue For The First Month Back At School***

For our first month back we require everyone (students, teachers & staff) to get tested once a week following the below schedule:

Test schedule:
8 or 9th April
15 or 16th April
22 or 23rd April
29 or 30th April

In order to return to school each Monday, proof of a negative test result must be provided to the MLWS administration by 7 am the same Monday. Please Send Test Results to administration@mountainlaurel.org

We will revisit the testing requirements and hope to scale it back to twice a month if we have no new positive cases.

There will be some updates to our Covid Health and Safety protocols which we will share with you at the end of the week.

Sincerely,

Administration.
