Dear Residents -

It is hard to believe that tomorrow is the last day of the Pearl River Farmers Market for the year. To view the vendor line-up, CLICK HERE. I want to thank everyone who supported the market and, of course, Joe Serra for his hard work and dedication in making it a success. We hope the Farmers Market will return next spring, with a goal to make it bigger and better – and maybe even throw in some special attractions. Stay tuned!

Last weekend, Orangetown had two local high school teams place in the Section One Cross Country Championships. The Tappan Zee girls team took first place and the Pearl River boys team took third in the Class B competitions. The athletes, their coaches and their parents should all be very proud of their accomplishments.

This Saturday, November 23, 2024 the Penguin Plunge, a Rockland County not-for-profit that works to help the families of seriously ill children, will be hosting a Celebrity Bartending event. This event is from 2 pm to 6 pm at O'Grady's Castle– with my celeb sister, Marie Walmsley, and her celeb side-kick Karen DiMenna taking the first shift. This year, three Orangetown children will be the recipients of funds raised. For more information, CLICK HERE.

Whatever you choose to do this weekend, enjoy and be safe!

Regards,

Teresa M. Kenny

Pearl River American Legion Post 329 Veterans Day Ceremony

On Monday, November 11, 2024, Supervisor Kenny joined members of Post 329, John H. Secor American Legion Post in Pearl River for their observance of Veterans Day. It was nice to see current veterans present the gift of a “woobie” (per Google, the term may come from the phrase "because you would be cold without it," where "would be" evolved into "woobie").
