Voting is underway to decide on how to spend $1 million in zip codes 02908 or 02909

Voting is underway through June 20 in Central Providence to decide how to spend $1 million through the Nine Neighborhood Fund participatory budgeting process. Twenty community-designed projects that aim to improve the health and well-being of Central Providence residents are on the ballot. Voting is open to all residents aged 13 and older who live in or go to school in Providence’s 02908 and 02909 zip codes. Cast your vote online at DecideRI.org and at the following locations:


Mt. Pleasant Library, 315 Academy Ave., Providence, Wednesday and Thursday, June 14-15, 4-8 p.m.

 

Smith Hill Library, 31 Candace St., Providence, Wednesday, June 14, 5-8pm


PrideFest, Providence Innovation District Park, 120 Peck St., Saturday, June 17


Walgreen's, 1 Pocasset Ave, Providence, Thursday, June 15, 3-7 p.m., and on Monday, June 19, 4-7 p.m.

COMMUNITY HEALTH

A dozen people graduate from second community health worker Pre-Apprenticeship Program

Twelve people graduated from ONE|NB’s Community Health Worker Pre-Apprenticeship Program on June 1. The five-week program gives participants a head start to becoming registered Community Health Workers.


The graduates shared their stories of overcoming challenges and pursuing their dreams, receiving citations from State Representative Enrique Sanchez, and congratulations from ONE|NB’s Executive Director Jennifer Hawkins.
