We pray your conferences last week were beneficial to you.  It is a joy to see your children grow in their knowledge, interpersonal skills, and especially in their faith.  We are privileged to support you.  As parents, Dr. Schroeder advises you to communicate unconditional love with words. Tell them you love them “no matter what” Children need to hear that often.  At St John’s, it is our joy to also share with your children that God loves them too - no matter what!

First Grade Eagles in Action

Remember to bring your special gift to chapel on Nov. 20th for the 1st Grade Service project. We will deliver them to the People’s Resource Center in Westmont to be shared with families in need. 

On October 31st, the 7th graders were able to culminate their Eagles in Action Project with their field trip to the Operation Support Our Troops packing warehouse in Lisle, IL. October chapel along with Sunday morning, Mission Cafe’, offerings totaled over $513. This money helps offset shipping costs. 

The 7th grade class along with the Sew Kids Sew club made 78 stockings. We also brought to the warehouse over 78 pounds worth of popcorn, lip balm, chewing gum, and peanut butter packets. 

Our awesome experience would not have been possible without the time, love, and energy of Liz Willig, who helped us sew stockings and a Thrivent Grant which helped purchase materials and ornaments.

Bake Sale Fundraiser

The bake sale will be held between and after worship services. Proceeds will go towards the 7th & 8th grade class trip to Springfield & Hannibal in May of 2025.

Mrs. Fields orders will be available to pick up after school on Tuesday, November 19th.

Orders MUST be picked up on that date. We do not have a freezer available to store items not picked up.

Picture Retakes

Friday, November 15th

If your student is retaking their original pictures, you must return the original photo package to the photographer on Friday. If you have any questions, please visit the help center at vangoghphoto.com.

We just received news from Artsonia that St John’s has earned 30 FREE professionally made  12’ x 16” art prints for publishing more than 300 student artworks this school year!  We look forward to seeing our updated artwork decorating our school hallways in the near future!  Thanks Artsonia!

Asbestos Update

We are up to date with our asbestos inspections. Papers are on file in the school office. We have passed all criteria and have passed our most recent inspection.

Please help us fill boxes for Operation Christmas Child!

Join us for our annual Operation Christmas Child Packing Party on Sunday, November 17th during the Sunday School hour!

Over the years we have found that the following items are popular and easy to pack. Please consider donating the items listed below.

 Empty shoe boxes (not boot boxes)

 Toy cars, small balls, flashlight, sunglasses, drawstring bags, fidget toys, small stuffed animals, plastic animals, water bottles, hats, small notebooks, pencils, pencil sharpeners, colored pencils or crayons, toothbrush, washcloth or comb, small puzzles, paint sets.

 Wal-Mart, Dollar Store gift cards and monetary donations are greatly appreciated!

 Drop off gift cards and monetary donations by November 10th in the church or school offices marked Operation Christmas Child and/or drop off items in the boxes labeled in the narthex.
