Dear Residents -
Well, winter certainly came in with a bang. So much so that officials have issued a “Cold Weather Alert” amidst a stretch of below-freezing weather coming early next week. With wind chills expected to make it feel much colder, the “feels like” temperatures may get as low as -7 degrees. So, layer up, wear gloves, a hat, and a scarf when outside and please, as an animal lover, only allow your pets outside for a very short time.
But, you know what is great at fending off the cold? Hot soup. Lucky for us, the Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary is offering their Drive-Thru Soup Supper on February 8, 2025, from 12 pm to 2 pm. Please place your order HERE by February 2, 2025, and enjoy!
The Orangetown Highway Department is continuing to pick up Christmas Trees and will do so through Friday, January 31, 2025. Please place your tree on your front yard and NOT on the roadway.
There are two Saturdays left to check out the Nyack’s Fire Companies exhibit at the Historical Society of the Nyacks. It is located behind the Nyack Library and open from 1 pm to 4 pm. The exhibit reveals the origins of 11 fire companies, spotlights the founding members, and includes early photographs that will bring the stories of each company to life.
Town Hall will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Stay safe and warm!
Regards,
