TCOA's 37th Annual Dinner and Auction

Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, guests, volunteers, and staff for yet another successful fundraiser for TCOA programs and services! Proceeds from the Dinner and Auction benefit Meals on Wheels and in-home supports for older adults in Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties.

Special shout out to Event Sponsors Jackson National Life Insurance Company® and Rich’s Residential and Home Care Options for their generous support!

Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to lead Diabetes PATH in the community. If you possess good listening and interpersonal skills, are comfortable speaking in front of a group, and can serve as a role model for healthy behaviors, consider becoming a leader. We are also striving to offer the workshop in Spanish, therefore, if you are bilingual and interested in being trained, let us know! Contact Christine Histed at histedc@tcoa.org or click here for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities

With the holiday season upon us, it is the perfect opportunity for community members to spread holiday cheer and volunteer with us! We have plenty of opportunities available, and we'd love for you to join us in our mission!

Volunteers can help out by:

  • Driving for Meals on Wheels
  • Serving food at one of our community dining sites
  • Preparing meals for seniors
  • Assisting with Medicare enrollment via MMAP
  • Facilitating health workshops

November Volunteer Spotlight: Bill Humphrey

Since early 2021, Bill has volunteered for Eaton County Meals on Wheels, frequently delivering routes in Grand Ledge and Delta Township.

Like many Meals on Wheels volunteers, Bill strives to give back to his community. He acknowledges that a part of what motivates his service is the rewarding feeling that comes with checking on individuals who might not see another face each day.

Beyond delivering meals, Bill volunteers in many capacities. In the past, Bill served as the coach for Michigan State University’s Rodeo Club for 15 years, and he recently returned to the team to serve as their advisor. Bill also serves on the board of the Red Cedar Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, and he is a trustee for Wacousta United Methodist Church.

For those who are considering driving for Meals on Wheels, Bill speaks highly of his experiences, saying, “[Volunteering] is a lot of fun, and it brings a good sense of community and self worth."
