The Do-It-Yourself Soul Exam
A writing workshop with Charlie Varon and Rabbi Katie Mizrahi
Wednesday, August 25, 7-9 pm

Explore the state of our lives and our souls through writing. Using techniques developed throughout the pandemic, our writing will help us to more fully understand ourselves, our moment, and the work we need to do to be the people we want to be.

Note: The workshop occurs during the Hebrew month of Elul, a traditional time of introspection, but is appropriate for people of any or no religion and is open to everyone.

Help Wanted at St. Anthony's Dining Hall

St. Anthony's Dining Hall needs help preparing and serving meals to folks who might otherwise go hungry. We have occasional group work days, but please consider volunteering as an individual when your schedule permits. Tasks include carrying trays to guests, pouring water, bussing dishes and clearing tables, dishing food on the cafeteria line, etc. It is a very rewarding experience. Kids 13 and older are welcome. Volunteers must be fully vaccinated.

To see all daily shifts and to sign up, visit the shift calendar.
SF-Marin Food Bank Short of Volunteers

While the South Side Jewish Collaborative is not yet able to resume their monthly group shift at the SF-Marin Food Bank, individual shifts are available and help is needed!

There is a new opportunity for teens, Pop-Ups for teens. Teens 13-14 should have an adult with them; teens 15 and older can volunteer on their own. Check out this link for volunteer opportunities at the food pantries and warehouse.

Or Shalom will not have our customary food bins at High Holy Day services this year, but the Food Bank still needs volunteers and monetary donations. Learn more at sfmfoodbank.org.
