Boxers, Bloomers, Briefs, and Bras!
...for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing... (Matt. 25:35-36)
Did you know that the number one requested item from food and clothing banks and shelters is underwear? I was absolutely blown away when I heard that because I realized I had been taking for granted some of the most basic (and important) the blessings in my life: access to hygiene products, shoes, clothes, and yes, underwear.
The Deacons in the DioPA are collecting new (packaged) underwear for local shelters. Our very own Deacon, the Rev. Carol Duncan, is spearheading this collection here at St. Martin's.
Please consider picking up a pack or two of underwear in your size, your spouse/partner's size, your child's size. Bras are also in extremely high demand.
LIFT has challenged the 8am and 10:30am Worship Services to see who can donate the most underwear. Want to see your service win? Drop off your donations at church and label the pack with your service time! The winner will be announced in late October. Game on!

St. Martin's Weekly Playgroup
Parents, caregivers, babysitters, and nannies are invited to St. Martin's Playground on Tuesday mornings from 9-11am for a playgroup! Check out our playground (which was built right before the pandemic!) with a mug of coffee and enjoy fellowship with other parents! All ages are welcome.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a rain-or-shine gathering; in the event of inclement weather, the playgroup will meet in the Parish Hall.
See you there!

We will also offer free Food & Fellowship for choristers and their family after the rehearsal at 6pm. RSVPs are encouraged; you can RSVP by clicking here.

Let us pray...
Prayer for Peace
God of love,
We pray for peace in our world, and an end to war.
Instead of hatred, let there be love.
Shelter your children and protect us.
Guide us and keep us from harm,
so we can build a world of love and live our lives in peace.
Amen.
Prayer for St. Martin's Transition
Oh God, You have created each one of us in love and brought us together in this time and in this place.
As You draw us now into the future with its uncertainties and hopes
Help us to remember our radical call to love You.
And to love one another and our neighbors as ourselves.
May we move forward into the weeks and months ahead
finding awe in the abundance of Your creation,
nurturing our life together in worship and community,
and seeking new ways to meet the needs of our beautiful and broken world.
We ask all this in Your holy name, Amen.
All are invited to join in the Transition Prayer Ministry, by contributing prayers that you have written or discovered. If you would like to learn more, please contact Joan Menocal (cell: 267-496-7604) or Debby Schaaf (notdeb2@gmail.com).
