Excerpt from Pre-Game Habits
"Habits play a crucial role in every single personโ€™s life around the world whether that be exercising, eating a healthier diet, listening to music/books, meditating; I mean, the list goes on. There are countless different routines that people can follow, and generally speaking, no one personโ€™s routine is the same. Itโ€™s important to remember that every person has their own way of preparing both mentally and physically, not only prior to officiating a game, but also in life.

On the topic of mental and physical preparation, it is also vital that I mention the distinctive journey that each individual person takes throughout life and their career, whether that be as a sports official or in other capacities. On the topic of refereeing, some officials may work twenty years of lower-level sports before they progress to the next level whereas others may work a couple of years and be at the college or professional level. Every single path is different, and we canโ€™t relate our own path and journey to another."

โ€œI was I am originally from a small town in Louisiana named Marksville; I currently reside in Baton Rouge. I relocated to Baton Rouge in 2008 to begin college at Southern University A&M College.โฃ
โฃ
I became a registered official with Louisiana High School Officials Association in 2012, where we are classified as registered for two years and I've been classified as a certified official as of 2014. I currently only officiate high school varsity games and I will be attending my first NAIA/NCAA D2 women's basketball officials hiring camp inโฃ
June. โฃ
โฃ
My short-term goal is to get hired to work NAIA/NCAA D2 level women's basketball games, and eventually move up to DI. My long-term goal is to get recognized by the NBA recruiters to enter their grassroots program and become a full-time NBA referee. The areas that I want to develop the most is having a patient whistle and becoming more comfortable with handling coaches when they become irate.โฃ
โฃ
The reason I joined Crown Refs is because I have been watching the videos and listening to the podcasts for years and wanted to become part of the community to help advance my officiating skills and learn more about the game.โ€โฃ
