HALLOWEEN TRICK-OR-TREAT GUIDELINES

Halloween is one of the most fun and exciting times of the year for kids and families. To keep our community safe, the Village recommends trick-or-treat hours between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm on October 31st. Residents who wish to participate are encouraged to turn on an exterior light on their porch or garage.

Safety Tips for a Safe and Fun Halloween:

  1. Look for Lights: Houses with exterior lights on are welcoming trick-or-treaters. Please avoid houses without lights on and do not ring their doorbell.
  2. Be Visible: Wear reflective clothing, especially after dark, and carry flashlights or glow sticks to help drivers and others see you.
  3. Stay on Sidewalks: When available, use sidewalks and avoid walking in the street. Keep an eye out for cars and stay out of vehicular traffic.
  4. Inspect Treats: Avoid homemade treats from unfamiliar sources, and throw away any candy that looks like it’s been opened.
  5. Drive Carefully: Drivers should slow down throughout the Village and exercise extra caution, especially near intersections and areas where children are likely to be crossing.

For emergencies, please call 911, and for non-emergency situations, the Maple Bluff Police Department can be reached through the Dane County Non-Emergency Dispatch at (608) 255-2345.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
