Bexley Athletics
Our girls' soccer team's fantastic season sadly came to an end this week with a loss to Cincinnati Wyoming in the state semifinal game.

The Lions had a great run in the playoffs, highlighted by a 1-0 victory over Fairfield Union in the regional final. They were one of the final four teams in Division II.

Congratulations on a great year!
Congratulations to both the Bexley Boys and Bexley Girls Cross Country Teams for their phenomenal 2021 seasons.

The girls concluded the year with a 14th place finish at the OHSAA Division II Cross Country State Championships. The boys placed 20th overall at the state meet.

Way to go, Lions!
BCS Online School
Families interested in having their BCS Online School students return to their buildings or families who wish to apply to have their students potentially move to the BCS Online School must submit the Intradistrict Enrollment application to the Superintendent's Office by December 1.

Applications will be reviewed and decisions made based on the student's academic progress and social-emotional needs. Decisions to approve or deny transfer requests will be communicated by December 15.
Traffic Congestion Outside BMS
The Bexley City School District and the City of Bexley have been in collaboration to address the traffic congestion outside of Bexley Middle School during release time. The traffic along Cassingham Road is a safety concern, and we are asking for your support in keeping our students safe. Beginning in November, we will be taking the following steps to address this issue:

  • The Bexley Police Department will strive to place a Parking Enforcement Officer outside each day during dismissal. Those who block a private driveway, double park, park in the bus zone, or park next to the fire hydrant will be notified of the infraction at the time and will receive a citation in the mail.
  • The City of Bexley will extend the yellow paint on the curb into the street to assist drivers in identifying the bus zone.
  • Both the District and the City will provide ample warning of these new procedures through the communication channels available to each organization.

Upcoming Vaccine Clinic
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends children ages 5-11 receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

We are partnering with Nationwide Children's Hospital to host a vaccine clinic in the cafeteria at the Cassingham Complex on Thursday, November 18 from 4:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. The clinic is open to our students and children in the community.

We are still waiting for a scheduling link from Nationwide, and we will send it out to our families as soon as we have it.

We are offering transportation to the clinic for families. One parent/guardian must accompany their child in our school vehicle.

You can sign up for transportation here: https://forms.gle/EVUDXnhXs2WkhNh59.
Mask Requirement Update
At Tuesday’s board meeting, the Bexley Board of Education passed an amendment to our mask requirement. Use this link to read the full resolution.

Effective immediately, universal masking is required for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors in our school settings except for while eating lunch, at outdoor physical education class, or outdoor recess. We still encourage masks to be worn during these times.

Students attending school under our “Mask to Stay Option” will be required to wear masks during outdoor physical education class and outdoor recess and will be spaced at least 6 feet from others while eating lunch during their 14-day period following the exposure to COVID-19.

Passengers and drivers on all school transportation are required to wear masks, per a federal mandate.

All extracurricular activities will be held in accordance with the ODH “Test to Play Option”. To read more about Mask to Stay/Test to Play visit: https://www.bexleyschools.org/protected/ArticleView.aspx?iid=523P32&dasi=3AP2.
Our Covid-19 Dashboard will appear on https://www.bexleyschools.org/COVID19.aspx and be updated every Thursday.
