Class of 2023 Alpha Omega Alpha Inductees

Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) is the oldest American honor medical society. It was founded in 1903 by medical students seeking to combat poor standards found in many medical schools at the time. AΩA embodies many of the high ideals that draw students into the field of medicine: Scholarship, Service, Professionalism, Ethics, Leadership, Altruism, and Community.

Class of 2023 Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Inductees

Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 to honor those students that had achieved the highest level of academic success regardless of academic discipline. The society was named Phi Kappa Phi from the letters of the Greek words forming its motto, Philosophía Krateítõ Phõtôn, "Let the love of learning rule humanity.”

MUSM researchers receive NIH grant to support individuals with ASD in rural Georgia

MACON/SAVANNAH - Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) faculty members Sarah Rotschafer, Ph.D., and Carolann Curry, MLIS, have received a six-figure grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop education and resources that will lead to early diagnosis and intervention therapies for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in rural Georgia.

First-Generation Scholars Boards and Beyond Subscription

The First-Generation Scholars Interest Group, in partnership with New Millennial Electrical Contracting Company, is sponsoring a Boards and Beyond subscription for an M1 and M2 student. American Indian and Alaska Natives in Medicine

There are about 3,400 American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/ANs) physicians in the United States. AI/ANs have practiced the art of medicine and wellness for thousands of years. Therefore, it is no surprise that they have made substantial contributions to public health. One example is Alaska's Community Health Aide Program. The program was established in the 1950s and provides primary, dental, and behavioral health care to the rural and frontier areas of Alaska. Learn more about the contributions of AI/ANs.
