CSLP Practitioner Core Chair
With Rev. Kathleen stepping down from the pulpit this month, you have a wonderful group of twelve Religious Science Practitioners who are stepping forward to ensure a smooth transition while the Board seeks an interim minister. In addition to running the Ministry of Prayer, teaching classes and workshops, your Practitioner Core will be taking over as service leaders and guest speakers through the remainder of 2021 which includes our special services during the holidays, i.e. Taize (Sun, Nov 28), Blue Christmas (Wed Dec 8 - not everyone is feeling that Norman Rockwell moment), and the Candle Lighting during the Winter Solstice (Wed Dec 22 - symbolizing the light to come). We also have secured some notable guest speakers, such as Rev. David Ault who will join us on Sun Nov 21.
This new chapter for CSLP provides the opportunity for you to get to know more about each Practitioner and the spiritual insights they lovingly share. It’s a time for amazing engagement, growth, connections, contributions, and unlimited possibilities. As we go forward embracing this thriving new beginning, I think of the words from Dr. Seuss, “Kid, you’ll move mountains! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!”
And to Rev. Kathleen, we wish you weren’t leaving, but we are happy for you because your future is so bright. May the wind under the wings of your dreams carry you far. Never forget how special you are!
For all the times you walked with us, and gently held our hands,
The times you stopped to answer why, to help us learn and understand.
Each time we fell or stumbled, you reached out and lifted us up to stand.
You were there in good times, even though we forgot to thank you.
You were there in bad times, to pick us up and see us through.

Greetings to all!
It’s getting to be that time of year - the Annual Board Meeting is coming soon. It will be held on Sunday November 28th, after service, starting at 12 noon. Please plan to attend, it’s an opportunity to participate in the work of your Center.
Some of you have noted our growing weeds along the outside of our wall. Rest assured the Board is working on getting them taken care of (if it hasn’t happened by the time you read this!)
As we move through this transitional time, let us remember that “change is always taking place within that which is Changeless…Nature demands…change in order that we may advance”. ( E. Holmes, SOM pp 131 and 385). Let us embrace change and advance together.

New Committee Being Formed!
The Board of Trustees is looking ahead in creating a committee to engage both the Quad Cities and online communities in open dialogue, by moving forward in sharing our Centers mission and vision as a path to increase membership and awareness to a broader audience. By expanding the Centers Love and Joy outside of our walls we are including others as we grow. Anyone interested in this exciting endeavor please reach out to a Board Member.

Dear Ones,
October has always seemed like a transition month to me. The month that shifts us from summer to autumn. This October brings more transitions than usual. The departure of Rev. Kathleen is a big change for our Center. While meditating on the meaning of this change, I came across these words from Ernest Holmes in a book called The Magic of the Mind. I joyfully share them with you.
“Today is a fresh beginning, a new start, a joyous adventure on the pathway of eternal progress. Today is bright with hope and happy with fulfillment. Therefore I affirm that this is the day that God has made, that it is good, and that I find fulfillment in it. The Law of Mind responding to this word of good makes everything in my life simple, effective and whole. The action of Wisdom through me arranges every circumstance so that success and happiness will come from it. I express the Spirit within so that only love and confidence go out to everyone I meet, blessing everything I touch, and bringing peace and comfort and joy to my world. In every thought, in every deed, in every act, I am sustained by an infinite Power and guided gently to an increasing good, for myself and others…
I put my whole trust in God. I know that the Spirit gently leads me, wisely counsels me. I know that the Love which envelops everything flows through me to everyone, and with It there goes a confidence, a sense of joy and of peace, as well as a buoyant enthusiasm and zest for life.”
I speak these words for you and for Rev. Kathleen, knowing only good can come from this.

A Consciousness of Joy! With Sandy Kimmerle, RScP (RESCHEDULED)
Everyone can use more joy in their lives! This class provides an opportunity to explore what joy means to you. We will explore ways to increase joy in our lives from the inside, whether anything has changed in our current world or not. This class is geared toward having fun as we learn. It will be a joy to have you here!

During the month of August, 2021, six (6) team members reported visiting (actual or telephone calls) 24 separate individuals. 57 visits were reported. The team members reported participating in three (3) Virtual Prayer Circles for individuals undergoing medical procedures.
Would you like a visit, telephone visit, telephone call, Prayer Circle or Virtual Prayer Circle by the Visitation Team for yourself or another? A Virtual Prayer Circle is performed when it is impractical to be at the hospital. A Virtual Prayer Circle is where each member goes into prayer at a designated time, wherever they are, for an individual undergoing a medical procedure. If this is for you, please contact the Pastoral Care Coordinator, David Sharer RScP at (928) 771 2791. The team loves to serve by making visits and praying with you
