Veteran’s Day
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, World War I officially ended. The tradition of Remembrance Day on November 11 began in England and has spread across the globe as a time to remember the fallen, the men and women who gave their lives in conflict. The red poppy is a symbol of Remembrance Day as poppies were said to be growing in the battlefields after World War One ended as described in the famous World War One poem "In Flanders Fields.” At 11am this Thursday you might consider praying for our veterans, living and dead, and praying for peace in our world.

Prayers for use on Veteran’s Day
"Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Amen.
"O Judge of the nations, we remember before you with grateful hearts the men and women of our country who in the day of decision ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy. Grant that we may not rest until all the people of this land share the benefits of true freedom and gladly accept its disciplines. This we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.” Amen.
“Almighty God our heavenly Father, guide the nations of the world into the way of justice and truth, and establish among them that peace which is the fruit of righteousness, that they may become the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Amen.

A Modern Beatitudes
Blessed are the agnostics.
Blessed are they who doubt. Those who aren’t sure, who can still be surprised.
Blessed are they who are spiritually impoverished and therefore not so certain
about everything that they no longer take in new information.
Blessed are those who have nothing to offer. Blessed are the preschoolers who cut in line at communion.
Blessed are the poor in spirit. You are of heaven and Jesus blesses you.
Blessed are they for whom death is not an abstraction.
Blessed are they who have buried their loved ones, for whom tears could fill an ocean.
Blessed are they who have loved enough to know what loss feels like.
Blessed are the mothers of the miscarried.
Blessed are they who don’t have the luxury of taking things for granted anymore.
Blessed are they who can’t fall apart because they have to keep it together for everyone else.
Blessed are those who “still aren’t over it yet.”
Blessed are those who mourn. You are of heaven and Jesus blesses you.

Pledge Drive
This past Sunday, during our All Saints celebration, we wrapped up our official 2022 pledge drive, and we offered up our pledge cards on the altar with a prayer of thanksgiving. Many thanks to Jim and Terri Pounds, the co-chairs of the Stewardship Commission, and to all of you who, as always, pledged such generous financial support of the mission and ministry of Trinity. If you have not yet had an opportunity to fill out a pledge card, it is never too late! Pledge packets remain available in the narthex and the church office. Thank you again, it is your faithful commitment of your time, talent, and treasure to Trinity that makes this such a special place.

Children’s Chapel
Parents or Grandparents, please plan to bring your children directly to the Children’s Chapel before the 10:30am service. They will be brought back to you at the Peace after getting to worship with age-appropriate prayers complete with hand motions and after hearing a Bible story. The Chapel leaders are looking forward to teaching your kids in person once again. Masks will be provided for any who are unvaccinated as we request that masks be worn to protect the children.

Planning a Graceful Exit
Perhaps you’ve seen the fully updated Planning a Graceful Exit books in the Narthex. They are a gift to our parishioners from the Trinity Foundation Board of Directors and are meant to help in estate planning.
But they are so much more than that – intended to help your family know where everything is and what you wish them to do with it, legal considerations, power of attorney forms and medical directives, bequests and gifts, and much more.
Every family would benefit from the information. We invite you to take one.

United Thank Offering

Highland Lakes Christmas Is For Kids, Inc. is gearing up for their 31st annual toy drive. This is a tax-exempt organization receiving no government funds, and for 30 years with generous community support has provided gifts for thousands of children in Marble Falls and the surrounding areas who otherwise would have little or no Christmas. The yearly average is about 300 families and 600-700 children. This has been another year of unique challenges, making the number of families needing support likely higher. As in past years, the only administrative expense this organization has had are the post office box and cost to mail out an annual letter. All other funds are used to provide gifts in answering children's specific requests. This organization is a work of love for many volunteers. Please look for the poster In the Trinity Narthex Sunday, November 7th through 14th with envelopes to allow for your donations. Your Ministry and Outreach Commission will collect the envelopes and mail them. Or, consider sending your check directly to Highland Lakes Christmas is For Kids, Inc. P.O. Box 1750, Marble Falls, TX 78654. Please make your check payable to Highland Lakes Christmas is For Kids, Inc., with a notation at the bottom of your check that this is a Trinity donation. This is a tax-deductible donation - please see their tax exempt status by visiting www.irs.gov/charities and following the search instructions. Their number is 74- 2800158. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
