Labor & Community Activists Voice Support for RWU

Since Railroad Workers United was organized in 2008, the rank & file has consistently stated that we must build allies in the community if we wish to defeat the rail carriers and win on the issues that matter to rail workers. Our efforts to do just that accelerated in 2014, when we jumped into the fight to defeat the single crew initiative on the BNSF. We have never looked back.

Whether it be with other unions and workers, environmental groups, rail advocacy outfits, or others, we have worked in solidarity with countless organizations and individuals in the last 7 years or so. We have formally affiliated with some of them. Others we have built close relationships with, aiding and abetting their cause, just as they do ours. Many have sent representatives to speak at our Convention. Some have chosen to join RWU as "Solidarity Members." We have built a culture of mutual solidarity and respect.

Earlier in 2021, Railroad Workers United approached some of these friends and allies to issue public statements of support for our organization. Their words of encouragement and support are inspiring for us railroaders to keep up the fight. As we go forward in the struggle, we aim to live up to their expectations!

Please take a few minutes and see what these organizations and activists have to say about the work of Railroad Workers United. And while there, click on the hyperlinks (in red) to learn more about these activists and their organizations and the important work they are doing. Thank you!
