Multi-Million Veterans Affairs Facility Coming to Perry
VA clinic
A real estate investment and management firm specializing in U.S. Government-leased properties recently purchased Eastgate Shopping Center located at 1309 Main Street.

A $14 million redevelopment investment will be made for the expansion of a Veterans Affairs Clinic.

The clinic is anticipated to open in December 2023.

City Adopts Sewer Master Plan
Mayor and Council adopted a 30-year master plan for sewer expansion within Perry's service area. This plan accommodates growth in a responsible manner.
County/Cities Adopts Comprehensive Plan
The 5-year Houston County Joint Comprehensive Plan is now available!

Why is this important? Now the county and three cities have a designated plan to evaluate:

New Historic Signage In Historic Downtown Perry
The Perry Area Historical Society & Museum's historic signage initiative is underway!

New markers went up on Evergreen Street last week to designate the street's historic significance in Perry.
Perry Pathways - Connecting Perry
The City of Perry desires for its citizens and visitors to experience a high quality of life while in Perry. One such way to achieve this is to provide city-wide connectivity.

You can now view the long-terms plans to improve existing sidewalks/trails and see where the next ones will be installed.
Adults Softball Registration Through March 2022
Leisure Services is accepting applications for the adult softball league until March 11.

Team fee is $500
Free Agent fee is $25

Free agents are individuals with no team affiliation but are interested in playing.

The season begins April 4.
Fiscal Year 2021 Audit Comes Back "Clean" Once Again
Each year, the City of Perry submits the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report in accordance with state statues and charter requirements.

Mauldin & Jenkins, Certified Public Accounts, LLC reviewed and issued an unmodified opinion - which is also known as a "clean" audit. This means the City of Perry is in good financial standing and conducts efficient financial operations.
Worrall Foundation Donates $35,000 for Playground Set
Thanks to the James E. Worrall Foundation's $35,000 donation, Pine Needle Park will soon have playground equipment.

The structure will feature ADA-compliant equipment and also fun things for toddlers to play on!
Hargray Donates $30,000 for New Scoreboards
A big thank you to Hargray for their donation of $30,000 to the City!

Leisure Services will put the money to good use by updating the City's scoreboards for athletic events.
Perry Presents Kicks Off 2022 Season!
Kick back with us in Perry as we enjoy sounds from a different band each month, June through August, from 7 PM through 9 PM.

Spring Cleanup Coming in April
Public Works' annual Spring Cleanup is scheduled for April 4-8!

This is the week special bulk items are picked up at no charge. Tires (max of 4), appliances, and household items are permitted to be picked up.

Spring Rains & Storm Drains
The City's catch basins, or storm drains, on the side of the road funnel rainwater to the various creeks throughout the city.

With spring showers coming, it's important to remember that pollutants and debris wash into the storm drains.
