Student Debt Forgiven Due to Pandemic
Solano Community College District is announcing that debt which students took on and could not be paid because of the pandemic will be forgiven. Paid for with federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) money, the forgiveness affects all account balances that resulted from enrollment in the Spring 2020 through Fall 2021 semesters. All registration holds resulting from these balances will be removed prior to the start of registration on November 15th.

Community College students have been hit hard because of COVID-19. By eliminating this debt, we are hoping to remove a barrier that would prevent them from continuing their education. The debt relief will affect over 5,500 students and will relieve over $1.1 million of unpaid balances.
