West Park Kamm’s Neighborhood Development is offering a year-long paid AmeriCorps VISTA opportunity to serve on Cleveland’s far west side for those interested in building stronger communities through food access and environmental justice and sustainability. The VISTA will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of community development and build skills in the areas of program development, community outreach, and granting writing.

Voters will vote in primary races for Mayor of Cleveland from Justin Bibb, Ross DiBello, Basheer S. Jones, Kevin Kelley, Dennis J. Kucinich, Zack Reed, and Sandra Williams.
Voters in 10 of the 17 City Council wards will also be voting in primary races: Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, and 17. The top two candidates in each race will be on the November 2 General Election ballot.

The run is Sunday, September 19 with opening ceremonies starting at 8:10 am! Heroes Run, a 5-mile run or 2-mile run/walk through West Park benefits a scholarship fund and the West Park Cleveland Police & Firefighters Memorial. Register now!

LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland will be hand to talk on their new program, QYou Youth Initiative. The program is a drop-in for youth, ages 11-20, that offers a safe space to socialize, a daily discussion, a meal or snack, and resources. Participants can build friendships while receiving identity affirmation and peer-to-peer empowerment.
Our sustainability program welcomes the Rocky River Reservation Watershed Stewardship Center to offer kids workbooks, coloring, and puzzle game sheets.
