Black History in Medicine: Celebrating African American Medical Pioneers
These trailblazers fought slavery, prejudice, and injustice and changed the face of medicine. Through their research, discoveries, and leadership they improved the health of millions. Black Men in White Coats Documentary
In honor of Black History Month, the Columbus chapter of SNMA is encouraging conversations on the struggles many Black men and women face as they pursue careers in healthcare. Black Men in White Coats is a short documentary series that hopes to raise awareness to the lack of Black men in the field of medicine. View the series here.

The Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center is hosting a series of health fairs in rural communities across Georgia and needs medical students to lead health demonstrations.

Hope Babette Tang Humanism in Healthcare Essay Contest

Medical students are invited to illustrate an experience where they or a team member worked to ensure that humanism was at the core of care. Winners will receive monetary awards, and their essays will be published.

Volunteers Needed for Hispanic Health Fair

Mercer University, along with other community sponsors, are hosting a Hispanic health fair at St. Peter Claver Church. If you are interested in helping at the fair, contact Dr. Jose Pino, Associate Professor of Foreign Languages and Literatures.
Nathan Deal Application Closes Friday
Deadline | March 4
This scholarship is awarded to students committed to practicing medicine in rural and medically underserved areas of Georgia. After completing residency, four years of continuous, full-time, medical practice in a medically underserved rural area of Georgia is required and the practice must accept Medicaid.

To qualify, you must be a Georgia resident with strong ties to rural Georgia and enrolled in MUSM's four-year MD program.
AAMC 2022 Graduation Questionnaire (GQ)
On Monday, February 14, each student in the class of 2022 was sent a private, unique link to the GQ from gq@aamc.org. The GQ is voluntary but the information you provide is critical to MUSM's success. Please take time to fill out the survey. If at least 105 people complete the survey, 50 students of the class of 2022 will be randomly selected to win $50 cash.
Home Financing Workshop
