LIC Monthly Mixer - Oct. 24


Thurs., Oct. 24, 5-7 p.m. - Join LICP and the LIC BID for a special seasonal cocktail menu at Debbie's, the live music venue on the second floor above Dutch Kills Bar. Enjoy live jazz, spooky cocktails, and a possible appearance by the ghost of Debbie herself. Come support a local business and meet your local community organization. Details

Halloween in LIC - Oct. 26


Sat., Oct. 26, 2-8 p.m. - Join the Halloween fun with a festival hosted by Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, LIC Partnership, and PS/IS 78Q PTA. The event kicks off with a 'Halloween March' down Vernon Blvd, followed by seasonal activities, a costume contest, and a screening of 'The Addams Family' at Hunter’s Point South Park. Details

Fri., Oct. 25, 7-9 p.m. - LIC YMCA’s "Fall Family Festival" featuring pumpkin picking, face painting, arts & crafts, games, healthy snacks, music, a costume runway, and photo shoot. Details


Fri., Oct. 25, 8 p.m. - MoMA PS1 and Susanne Bartsch host a Halloween bash with dancing, DJs, and elaborate costumes. Details


Fri., Oct. 25, 11 p.m. - 00:00 NYC hosts a monster mash Halloween costume party with Latin music all night and free admission for ladies. Details


Sat., Oct. 26, 9:30 a.m. - Schneps Media and Queens Post present the "Sunnyside Post Mile," a Halloween-themed run/walk event supporting Sunnyside Community Services. Details


Sat., Oct. 26, 12-4 p.m. - Socrates Sculpture Park's "Halloween Harvest Festival" is back with a pumpkin carving contest, compost catapult, and dog costume contest. Details

Tues., Oct. 29, 6-8 p.m. - Join Council Member Julie Won, the Department of City Planning (DCP), and WXY Studio at their next focus-area meeting at Sound River Studios to learn about how the OneLIC Neighborhood Plan will facilitate the creation of new open spaces along the waterfront and share your ideas to inform the design of those spaces. Tues., Nov. 12, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. - Join LICP for a workshop on street tree care in partnership with Big Reuse, thanks to the support of Council Member Julie Won.
