 Payments made after 7/29 will have an additional $20 late fee.
Summer Camps!
We are excited to offer our students two summer camp opportunities from August 9-13! With the generous support of Level Up SD, we are able to provide this year’s summer camps *free of cost* to all SDYS and non-SDYS students. Camps offered are:
Chamber Music Camp - (open to Inspiration, Showcase, and Ovation students, ages 10-18) all eligible SDYS students now invited to register.
Please click on the hyperlink of either camp to indicate your interest on the Level Up website. Once you do so, you will receive registration instructions. As always, please contact conservatory@sdys.org with any questions.
2021-2022 Placements
Tuition due July, 29!

Ensemble placements, leadership roles and tuition assistance notifications for the 2021-2022 season have been sent out.

If you did not receive your placement email, please log onto https://myinfo.sdys.org/ and be sure to check your spam folder. If you still cannot find it, please email conservatory@sdys.org immediately. If you decide not to accept the offer of placement, please email the conservatory team indicating your decision. Placement decisions are final and cannot be changed.

2021-2022 Rehearsal Times

The SDYS Season Calendars are now updated with tentative rehearsal times. We will be in touch by the first week of August if anything changes. Thank you for your patience as we continue to make the best decisions possible for all of our students, especially as we return to in-person rehearsals.

Season's First Downbeat
Save the Date!
On Saturday, August 28 musicians and their families, new and returning, are invited to “Season’s First Downbeat.” This is a family orientation to meet the conductors and administrative staff. You do not need to bring your instrument.

  • Conservatory Program Assistant (30 hr/wk)
  • Community Program Assistant (16-20 hr/wk)
  • Production Assistant (PT)
  • Teaching Artists (Violin/Viola, Cello)
Would you like to be a ChIMES Guest Musician?

We are looking for Conservatory musicians to come demonstrate their instrument for young children ages 0-5 and their caregivers as a ChIMES Guest Musician during our 4-week June session. ChIMES classes are currently taking place OUTDOORS in Balboa Park or Liberty Station on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings. Come play a short piece of your choice, as well as a classic kid favorite like Twinkle Twinkle or If You're Happy and You Know It.
This is a fun experience that also counts for volunteer or community service hours!
