Campus Resources

This is your cheat sheet for when your student is needing help! Campus resources will help your student when they need support in academics, health, wellness, and getting involved.

Here is a list of campus resources, please encourage your student to utilize them.

Parent & Family Services

This office is for YOU. We organize Family Weekends, put out newsletters and social media posts to keep you informed. If you don’t know who to call, start here and we will direct you to the right place!

BE PREPARED

Your student will get sick. Know where to send them for help.

It's inevitable that your student will get sick and while we hope it is a mild cold, be prepared by knowing where to send your student for medical help. Do this by knowing what providers are in your network and making sure your student has a copy of your insurance card. If your student doesn't have insurance, know about the low-cost clinics in the Cedar City community. Learn where our local Instacare and ER are located as well as where the closest pharmacy is located. Our Health and Wellness office can help your student navigate this as well.

PARENT WEEKEND

September 23rd - 24th

Join us for our Homecoming weekend as we celebrate SUU and our community. We hope this weekend gives you a chance to spend some time with your student while exploring what SUU and Cedar City have to offer. See the full homecoming schedule here.

This weekend is planned around some fantastic homecoming events that we hope you will go to. This is a great time to have your student show you where their favorite places are on campus, their favorite restaurants, favorite place to explore, etc. Read this article about what to expect and how to plan for a family weekend. Don't forget to wear your red! Go T-Birds!

MENTAL HEALTH

Mental health is essential for a student's academic success. SUU provides resources, support, and services to address mental health issues at every level of concern. We are committed to helping all Thunderbirds Thrive. If your student needs assistance navigating any of the resources, please have them contact Counseling and Psychological Services, the Dean of Student's Office, or the Health and Wellness Center.

TAO Connect is a virtual resource that is free to your student. It is full of online workshops and self-guided resources. Your student can access this resource through their mySUU portal by clicking on the "Mental Health Resources" button.
