Spring Membership Meeting

Saturday, May 20th

Dear Karen,

With the Spring Community Meeting this Saturday, the season has officially begun!

Spring Membership Meeting

We gather as a community twice each year, once in the Spring and again in the Fall. Please join neighbors and friends this Saturday, May 20th at Whyte Hall. Refreshments served at 10AM, and the meeting begins promptly at 10:30AM.

Here is the agenda. In addition to welcoming our new homeowners and sharing information about the state of the Pines real estate market, we will cover other important topics that inform the current season as well as future opportunities for the Pines. And we will conclude with an open community forum encouraging questions and feedback.

The meeting is not limited to FIPPOA members, though we certainly encourage anyone who is not a member to join. Anyone with an interest in the present state and future of the Pines is welcome to attend.

Here are the reports from our beloved Pines organizations about what to expect from this season. 2023 here we come!

The Fire Island Pines Fire Department

Lithium-Ion batteries are rechargeable and are used in many personal electronics such as cell phones, tablets, and laptops as well as E-Bikes, many tools, and for solar power backup storage among other commonly found products. If used incorrectly or if defective, they can be extremely dangerous. Chief Joe Geiman asked that I distribute these Lithium-Ion battery safety guidelines, which I encourage us all to read and heed.

The Department is again this year selling its popular tee shirts, which will sell out at the July 29th Community BBQ. So don’t wait until then. Stop by the firehouse 11AM to 3PM (except Sundays): only $20 – one of the few bargains still available in the Pines!

Community Clean-Ups – Another Annual SUCCESS!

Our two Spring community clean-ups were a huge success. At our rain delayed Sunday, April 30th household waste clean-up, we filled five dumpsters to the brim, and fortunately, did not need to turn anyone away due to lack of available space. Similarly, at our sunny May 6th yard waste clean-up, we filled two “double-wide” dumpsters with the help of the Town of Brookhaven Highway Department crew and their mulcher machine.

I’d like to thank all the volunteers who were present at the dumpster sites to facilitate community members as they threw their trash away!

Speaking of Volunteers 😊

FIPPOA has needs for community volunteers across the entire season for a variety of reasons. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete this volunteer form. If you are not sure exactly where you’d like to chip in, we will find the perfect opportunity to match your interest.

Looking forward to seeing you all this Saturday morning at Whyte Hall. Make us set up extra folding chairs to accommodate our largest attendance ever!
