IN-PERSON WORSHIP

Sunday worship services are held in in our sanctuary at 9am and 11am!

Masks are optional (except for children ages 2-4 and volunteers working with children ages 4 and under) but they are encouraged. There is a marked "masks required" section in the front right of the sanctuary for those who don't wish to sit with unmasked attendees.

ONLINE WORSHIP

You can join us virtually via our live-streamed service at 9am on YouTube and Facebook, or watch the service immediately after.

This Worship Resource Page serves as a companion to the online worship service and includes song lyrics and sermon scripture.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Newborn-Preschool: Class is available during services. Upon drop-off, parents/guardians and children receive wristbands with matching numbers. Parents supply their wristband to pick up their child at the conclusion of the service.

Kindergarten-Grade 5: Class is available during both services. Children in this age group will begin in the sanctuary for worship with their parent/guardian and will be dismissed to the CE Room after the Congregational Prayer.

Grades 6-12: There will be NO Youth Sunday School this week!

MOURN WITH THOSE WHO MOURN

Please pray for Theresa and Van Baltimore and their family as they grieve the passing of their nephew this past week.

PASTORAL STAFF VACATIONS

Pastor Ryan will be on vacation July 28 - August 4. Pastor Patty will be serving at Roxbury Camp August 4 - 14. Please contact the church office or one of the other pastors if you need assistance in their absences!

AUGUST SABBATH

Each year we take a break in August from everything except our Sunday worship services (things like meetings, rehearsals, K-5 Sunday School, etc.). This gives our staff and many of our volunteers time for rest and refreshment, as well as some time for planning as we gear up for a new school year. As always, pastoral staff will be available for you throughout the month unless a particular staff member is on vacation (which will be communicated in the weekly email)!

YOUTH MISSION TRIP

Our Youth Mission Trip Team is heading to Michigan, July 30 to August 6!

Pastor Brie, ten of our youth, and two other adult leaders will be driving to Michigan today, July 30th, to join with a long-standing ministry to the local refugee population and help with their summer enrichment program for refugee children. They will also get to learn from and interact with the ministry to the Muslim population there.

They are really looking forward to this time of learning and service for our youth - be sure to pray for them throughout this week!

BIC GENERAL ASSEMBLY UPDATE

The pastoral staff and delegates (Chad Frey, Matt & Rachel Lewis, Fellistus Munakombwe, Luke Niesley) traveled last week to Salina, Kansas for the Brethren in Christ General Assembly; the meetings were Friday evening through Monday evening. The Assembly had a combination of good times of worship and inspiration, business sessions with lively debate, various breakout sessions, and times for fellowship with BIC folks from around the US and BIC Global Workers from around the world. All were glad they attended.

Of note in the deliberations, a revision to the BIC Articles of Faith and Doctrine (adding some phrasing to the doctrinal statement of Brethren In Christ US to make clear our denomination's support of women serving at all levels of ministry and leadership) was passed by just over a two-thirds majority. The revision will need to pass again in the 2024 General Assembly in order to go into effect. Our delegation was thankful to be present to add our support to that vote, among other important business items.

POST-SECONDARY

SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Education offers opportunity and equity, and it is as important as ever in helping students not only survive but thrive. Some students, however, hit roadblocks to affordable education because of family, economic, or other circumstances. HBIC has set up a scholarship fund to help students cover a small portion of their college costs like textbook or lab fees. These funds can help students towards finishing their degrees so they can find jobs that God has particularly gifted them to do. If you're interested in an application, contact Pastor Brie.

VBS OFFERING

This year's VBS offering project has been raising funds for the Nono Clinic in Zimbabwe, which will provide much-needed medical care to the Nono Mission's rural community!

As this year's VBS offering project draws to a close, the total given to date is $5985.08! Tomorrow, July 31, is the last day to give through HBIC toward this important need . (Gifts toward this project can also be sent directly to BIC World Missions anytime with the notation, Project #1584.) Thanks for the generous support of this year's VBS offering project!

GROCERY GIFT CARDS

Did you know that you can purchase gift cards for Giant, Weis and Karns through HBIC and we get 5% of the value of the card? Contact the church office to order if you're interested and we will arrange a pick-up time with you!
