Nominating Committee News
The Board of Fellowship is looking for help! Several stalwart members transitioned off this year, and there are currently three openings on Fellowship.
It's a great opportunity to meet and work with members of HCC and also to organize memorable and fun events that lead to deeper community connections. Without enough engaged and vibrant members on Fellowship, some of the wonderful events we've come to love might not have enough support to be carried out. If you are interested or have considered getting involved, now would be a great opportunity. Please contact any member of the Nominating Committee for more information (Rev. Pete, John Pint, Lynn Mayo, Todd Anderson or Kit Schlosky).

Faithfully,
JWP
Middle School Teacher Needed
We are in need of a Sunday School Teacher (Paid Position) for Middle School Children, beginning September 12 th – Homecoming Sunday - through June 2022. If you are energetic, and love children, please speak with Jen DiMarzio.
It's here! Virtual Concert by Violinist Kai Waynen
Thirteen-year-old Kai Waynen began playing violin at the age of 3. Kia is the son of Brad and Yoko Waynen and the grandson of Steve and Lynn Waynen. He was a member of the New England Conservatory‘s Preparatory String Orchestra at age 9, and the String Repertory Orchestra the following year. At 11, he was concertmaster for the Boston Youth Symphony Junior Repertory Orchestra’s 2019 season. He is currently a member of the Youth Symphony at the New England Conservatory.
Kai has also studied privately with accomplished violinist Dan Flonta and Carol Sykes, one of the founders of the Suzuki system in the United States. He currently studies with violinist Anait Arutunian, who teaches at New England Conservatory. Kai's other passions are science, chess, biking and foosball - his 2 younger sisters are catching up fast and giving him a run for his money!

Kai has recorded a virtual recital in our sanctuary on YouTube. He hopes to raise money with half going to HCC and half for the Dream Award Scholarship Fund.

Green Thought for the Week
SOMETHING IS HAPPENING IN MAINE…

which could be the start of something big! Check out the Boston Globe link below to find out what Maine is doing in its attempt to interrupt the endless flow of single-use plastic, cardboard, etc. in its state. A bill recently signed by its governor puts more responsibility for the packaging waste they create on the corporations that create it. Several other states - including Mass. - are considering similar laws
