This week our meet will be on Sunday at Mt SAC in Walnut. We do not host this meet, so I will need to know who will be competing for sure by Tuesday! We are so excited to run this iconic course again!! Plan to stay and see some exciting races if you can!! The athletes will need lots of cheering.

This race will be a bigger Invitational, much like the race at Central Park! All athletes are invited!! I will have to pre- register all athletes by tomorrow night. Today at practice I will have a sign-up sheet for your athletes to check YES or NO. I will also need this release form filled out USATF Waiver .

Our team will pay for all the entry fees, but the on time registration will close Tuesday night. If you would like to reply to this email that is good too. Please reply with either YES or NO. and your Childs name. If you miss the Tuesday deadline you can register your athlete at the meet before 9:00 am, but there will be a $10.00 charge. Storm will register and pay for all athletes that declare by Tuesday!

There will also be a $10.00 parking fee, please bring exact cash only. This is a very exciting meet and all the athletes will love the course!!

Some of our top athletes will be running as a Valley United Strider athlete at this meet. Please check with Coach Elaine if you are in the top 8 rankings!! Please see the flyer for the meet for more info, but remember I will register all Storm athletes, so you do not need to do anything except let us know if you will attend!

Please do not bring your dogs as they are not allowed on the college campus!

Parking at Mt. SAC will be $10 (cash only).  ● All competitors, coaches, staff and spectators will park in the Champion parking lot, directly behind (west of) Hilmer Lodge Stadium.  ● Mt. SAC Staff will be collecting parking fees please have your payment ready prior to entering the lot in order to speed up the parking process. The Mt. SAC Police and Public Safety Staff will be monitoring the parking areas as well the activities involving the Free Spirit XC event.

Please send in your form or report card asap!!

As we go into our final 2 meet, many are thinking about the Post Season with Valley United Striders. If you look on the cross country page at the bottom of the page is a "Ranking File" If your athletes has been coming in the top 20-25 they may want to considerer the all star team. We take the top athletes from all the VYC teams and form A,B and some times C teams to compete in the USATF Junior Olympic competition that could end up at the Jr. Olympics in Shelbyville Indiana. Teams must qualify through a series of races.

Please check out and like our Facebook pageStorm Cross Country for some great picture from Anthony Calderon. Please see the info below. Anthony tries to take action shots of all our athletes! Notes From Coach Jeremy

Hello Team,

This week we run the famous MT. SAC course!! I am so excited for each of you to be able to run this course. A true gladiator course that will challenge you to conquer your competition. You will each enjoy this iconic course and let’s plan on sitting around the campfire afterwards recalling the glory of the battle! This in only the 2nd time we have raced this course since 2015.

We have only 2 more regular season races and we are ready for it!!

With the return of the heat please make sure your athlete is hydrating every day!!!

  1. Watch out for snotty/runny nose friends and siblings. You don’t want to get sick now!
  2. Don’t drink after others, ever!
  3. Stay away from doing things that can break and arm or get you hurt. Unless you are Matty Basin and run with your cast anyway! ?
  4. Eat healthy to keep that Ferrari engine purring the way it should.
  5. Keep pushing hard and keep smiling!

Ok, that’s it for now.

Coach Jeremy

Sincerely,
