Congratulations to Amy Matteucci, September's Heart of the Teacher recipient
and Kendra Card, Heart of Support recipient.
Puster Families,

As you may now know, our internet and phones are down at PES with no ETA on repair as of this evening. We hope we are up and running again tomorrow! If not, don't hesitate to reach out to me on my cell. On behalf of our PES staff, please forgive any delayed responses to emails until we are up and running again.

You may have noticed the section titled "Above and Beyond" linked below. It's always awesome to celebrate the small, everyday things our staff do that make a big difference. We'd love your contributions!

You are now invited to have a join your child for a picnic lunch in our courtyard. We are having some beautiful fall weather these days - let's take advantage! You will need to check-in as a visitor at the front office. You are welcome to use our courtyard picnic tables or bring your own picnic blanket/chairs.

Lunch times:
K- 12:25-12:55
1 - 12:10-12:40
2 - 12:45-1:15

LISD Socioeconomic Information Form

Dear Lovejoy ISD Families,

This year, all Lovejoy ISD parents are asked to complete the LISD Socioeconomic Information Form, regardless of socioeconomic need. State and federal funds are allocated to school districts based on this information.

If you have already completed this form for 2021-2022 you do not need to complete another form. However, if you have not completed this form for the 2021-2022 school year, please click Socioeconomic Information Form to download the form, complete one form per student and return it either to the campus PEIMS personnel or to PEIMS Coordinator, 259 Country Club Rd, Allen, TX 75002 by October 8, 2021.

If you prefer to complete the form on-line, please click On-line Socio Economic Information Form. We still require this to be completed for each student. Please note that this form is not sent to the Texas Education Agency and that the income levels indicated for your family are not reported to the Texas Education Agency. Only the Economic Disadvantaged status of each student as determined by the information provided is reported to the Texas Education Agency.

Respectfully,

Laurie Tinsley, EdD
Assistant Superintendent of Student Services

At Puster, we know EVERY staff member goes above and beyond, though we may not always hear about it. Who are our unsung heros? Has a Puster teacher or staff member gone above and beyond for your child/family? We want to hear about it! Parents, community members, staff members and students are welcome to share by clicking the link above. We will keep contributors anonymous in our shout outs.

This week we'd like to recognize the following staff member:
New After School Learning Opportunity
COVID-19
Information & Resources
Volunteers and Visitors to Puster will be required to complete a COVID pre-screener the day of visit. Please scan the QR Code at the front of the building to access this form. We appreciate your diligence in keeping our leopards healthy!

At this time, we are not allowing lunch visits or volunteers. You are welcome to drop lunch off for your child at any time.
  • You will be sent a communication of possible exposure if a student or staff member tests positive for COVID. This note will go out to the whole class and any group the child may have participated in that day.

  • We are not conducting close contract tracing investigations at this time. However, if we are aware of confirmed close contact we will notify you.

  • If you receive an exposure notice, your next steps as a parent are to monitor your child for symptoms. If your child is exhibiting 2 or more of the symptoms noted below, please keep your child home and obtain a COVID negative test or alternate diagnosis before returning to school. Notify Nurse Janet at [email protected].

  • All communication around your child's symptoms and diagnosis must be copied to Nurse Janet at [email protected].

  • Your child does not have to quarantine if asymptomatic.
  • If you choose to self-quarantine or if your child is out due to illness, this will be counted as an absence. If work can be made up, it will be pushed out through Google Classroom or Seesaw. Otherwise, the teacher will work to make-up missed instruction upon return.

  • NEW Beginning Sept. 8 - School systems may choose to require household-based close contact students to stay at home during the below stay-at-home period if they are in an area with high or rising COVID case rates. This applies specifically to students who are close contacts because an individual who lives in the same household is COVID-19 positive. The full document can be found at this link: SY-20-21-Public-Health-Guidance.pdf (texas.gov)

Please refer to our current district and campus procedures linked above and below and reach out to Holly Haynes with any questions: [email protected].

to 100.0 degrees
·        Loss of taste or smell
·        Cough
·        Difficulty breathing
·        Shortness of breath

I am also seeing leg pain as a sign in many of the children who test positive.

If your student is not feeling well, please keep them at home and email your child’s assistant principal. Please also keep them home, contact the nurse if your student receives a lab positive COVID test. I will need a copy of the results.

Can I bring birthday treats to school for my child?

Yes, you can purchase birthday treats for your child through Student Nutrition. Please note that we are only allowing birthday treats from the LISD Student Nutrition department. Please click here to order your child's birthday treats today! Please email your child's teacher to inform them that you ordered treats so that we do not have 2 students celebrating birthdays on the same day. At this time, we are requesting no visitors during birthday celebrations.
