Summer Update
July 21, 2021
From the Office of the President
Dear BBHS Families,

Summer greetings! We hope you are enjoying these days as a time of rest and rejuvenation. We are sending this midsummer update to keep you informed as we prepare for the new school year that will begin in late August.

As we shared in late May, we will resume the new school year in a traditional, fully in-person learning model. We do expect updated school guidance in August from the Washington State Department of Health that will determine the specifics around various protocols such as masks and gatherings like lunch and assemblies. We will continue to review the guidance, update plans as needed, and communicate with you as we approach the new school year.

Facility preparations will continue throughout the summer. You may recall we are updating the Dale Marshall Performing Arts Lobby, beautifying the Jim Pinsoneault Quad and replacing the turf on Mickey Naish Field. Each of these construction projects remain on schedule for completion in mid-August.

We hope you find the information in this communication helpful as you begin to prepare for a new school year. We will resume our Wednesday Weekly Updates in mid August. In the meantime, continue to enjoy a safe and peaceful summer.

Blessings,

Tony DeSapio
President

COVID-19 PROTOCOL UPDATE - COMING SOON

FALL SPORTS 2021 INFORMATION
We anticipate a return to the normal sports schedule in the 2021-22 school year (Fall, Winter and Spring sports played in the traditional timeframes).

Fall Sports begin on Monday, August 23 with the exception of football, which begins on Wednesday, August 18.

Bishop Blanchet requires physicals to be renewed each school year It is highly recommended to get your student's physical completed in July-August, so it is current for the entire school year. To be eligible, all athletes need to upload their current Physical and Medical History Form forms to FamilyID

Once forms are submitted online, the parent/guardian account holder will receive a confirmation email from FamilyID stating that their registration has been successfully “completed,” The Athletic Office will then review the registration. Accounts will be sent an email stating that the student athlete is/is not eligible to participate, due to a specific reason. The Athletic Office will be open starting on Monday, August 16 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. to help with the registration process. Fall cut-sports consist of boys and girls golf, girls soccer, and volleyball. Fall non-cut sports are boys and girls cross-country, football, and girls swimming. Please check the main Athletic Page of the BBHS for tryout information - as it is published over the next few weeks.

FALL PLAY
The BBHS Drama Department is thrilled to announce the title of the fall play, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 by John Bishop! This slapstick who-done-it romp will be performed on campus November 5-7 in our Marge Bradburn Studio Theatre, featuring a beautifully redesigned lobby! Auditions for actors will take place September 7-9. Interviews to join our awesome crews will happen September 9.

Play Synopsis:
The creative team responsible for a recent Broadway flop (in which three chorus girls were murdered by the mysterious “Stage Door Slasher") assemble for a backer’s audition of their new show at the estate of a wealthy theatre financier. The house is replete with sliding panels, secret passageways, and a German maid who is apparently four different people—all of which figure diabolically in the comic craziness which follows when the infamous “Slasher” makes his reappearance and strikes again—and again! As the composer, lyricist, actors, and director prepare their performance, and as a blizzard cuts off any possible retreat, bodies start to drop in plain sight, knives spring out of nowhere, masked figures drag their victims behind swiveling bookcases, and accusing fingers point in all directions. Can this mayhem murder mystery be solved?
