Fall Block Party - Join your neighbors for some fun
Food, Fun, Music, and More
Please save Saturday, October 29, on your calendar for a neighborhood event that is sure to please. Join us at our Fall Block Party!

This will be an opportunity to talk to friends from the neighborhood you have not seen in a while, meet the new kids on the block, and toss the old corn hole bag.

The fest will feature burgers and other fare, expertly flipped, grilled, and bunned. Later in the evening, family-friendly live music will fill the Clairmont Heights air.

Interested in helping out? Be on the lookout for a Signup Genius survey link in future mailings as the date gets closer.

Joro Spiders - Where are they NOW??
Help Track the Newcomer
Many of us in the northern part of Georgia area have already seen invasive Joro spiders in our yards.

Help track their spread using a new website developed by the University of Georgia, Valdosta State University, and Southern Integrated Pest Management Center:

The monitoring program is aimed at gathering data and understanding the spread and distribution of Joros.
The website is one-stop portal to report and learn about this potentially invasive species. Included is a guide to sorting out Joros from native look-alikes such as golden silk orb-weavers and yellow garden spiders.

Help us expand this data by reporting Joro sightings near you. You might also wish to share with friends in nearby states or regions of Georgia without current sightings to create more reliable information about the spread of Joros.

Developed by the Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health at the
University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and
Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources.
