THE CHAPELINE - October 26, 2021

FROM PASTOR BROCK...

This Sunday at the Chapel, we will be celebrating All Saints Day during worship. Although this might be a new tradition to a few of us, it's been a valued part of the Church for over 1,500 years. Its purpose is important: To remember members of the Church who have passed into God's hands during the last year.

Over time, we have developed ways to help us work through our grief. It's never easy, especially when we lose a spouse, child, sibling, or special friend. Some of us have even developed routines of working through our grief because we have grown so accustomed to it. All Saints Day represents a tremendous gift of the Church to the people and community it serves by providing the Church (Chapel) family the opportunity to remember people who are still special to us and now "saints" in God's care.

Given the unusual (pandemic-related) circumstances in which we have lived these last two years, the Chapel will be remembering all of those Chapel members who have passed during the last two years, 2020 and 2021. At the conclusion of the All Saints service this Sunday, the names of our loved ones will be read, along with a responsive liturgy, special prayer, and the chiming of bells.

I pray that you are able to join us this week for this special day in the Life of the Longboat Island Chapel. We have great hope because of God's amazing love for all of us. This Sunday represents an opportunity to thank God for His love when He gave these special people to enrich our lives and fulfill the Lord's work through the Chapel!

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday morning!

God Bless, Brock.

Breast Cancer Awareness.jfif

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

"Support the Girls!"

How can you help? Two ways:

1.) Wear pink to the Chapel when you attend worship on Sunday mornings in October.

2.) Collect women's bras (new, all sizes) and bring them to the Chapel. They will be distributed locally to women in need.

Yes, it seems strange to collect bras, but this is imperative. Bras are often expensive. Therefore, these are very difficult items for people in need to obtain. Don't shy away from this opportunity. Both adult and children's sizes are much needed, so please consider purchasing a new bra or two and bringing them to the Chapel. We will make sure they get to the folks who need them.

As always, we appreciate your generosity! It is exciting to serve the LORD and our local community!

Thanks, your Charitable Outreach Committee
