Empowering Leaders to Grow and Serve
Lead
On Monday, October 25th, RMS kicked off Student Leadership Teams, known as LEAD Teams. We are very proud that all 1180 of our students are able to serve our community, school, and one another as they work toward a team-developed mission. We have a total of 41 LEAD Teams who will meet three Mondays a month. Look for upcoming celebrations and progress of our amazing RMS leaders!
Response to Intervention (RTI)
Check out what our students are saying about RTI time at RMS!
"RTI gives me extra time to get better and to grow as a learner."
-Audrey Weber
"RTI gives us extra time to do our work and it allows me to have more time with my teacher to get help."
-Slater Howard
"During RTI, we can fix things we do not know. It gives me more time to develop specific skills."
-Cardine Caster
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, RMS students participate in RTI for 30 minutes at the end of the day. During RTI, students receive intervention instruction based on student needs and personalized learning time as well. Our focus this year at RMS is English Language Arts(ELA) and Math. Each RTI cycle lasts three weeks (9 days) and each cycle alternates between ELA and Math.
During personalized learning time, students work with teachers on standards/assignments/projects they have identified as a priority.
We will continue to communicate our celebrations and adjustments throughout this process and are excited to build on our students' strengths and empower their growth!
Classroom Spotlight
Shout out to Mayor of Republic, Matt Russell for stopping by RMS! Mayor Russell was able to help with the morning announcements and also shared his expertise as a guest speaker with our 7th grade English Language Arts students! #RepMOProud
Optional Student COVID19 Vaccine Status
To help our nurses and our administrators with the efficiency of future contact tracing (as you can imagine, these can be very time-consuming), we're asking our families to share student COVID19 vaccine statuses with us by completing the form at the link below. Completing this form is completely voluntary and not required. However, by sharing your student's proof of vaccine with us, we'll be able to quickly determine that if your student is exposed to a positive case they will not need to quarantine as long as they are symptom-free instead of having to gather evidence during contact tracing.

This will be very helpful information, but it will be kept confidential and for district purposes only. This will also allow us to be able to determine our overall student vaccination rate, which can assist us in how we monitor future trends of COVID19 in our buildings.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this voluntary form and to upload your student's vaccine card, if he or she has been vaccinated. This form will be available throughout the year to complete as vaccines are received. Contact your school nurse or Health Services Director, Natalie.Botkin@republicschools.org if you have questions.
