Notice New Flowers on Our Grounds? Thank 15-year old Matthew Michailoff!
If you've been admiring the blooms in our flower beds this summer, we want you to know that they were planted by 15-year old Matt Michailoff, a Pelham resident and incoming 10th grader, as part of a project to earn the status of Eagle Scout. This isn't the first time Michailoff has been involved with the library—he also participated in Battle of the Books and was part of the winning team that took home the Westchester championship in 2019. "I chose the library [for my project] because I've gone there and done programs there for as long as I can remember," says Michailoff. "I know they provide great services for the community, and I was eager to give back." Michailoff has been in boy scouts for nine years and still has a few more items to check off his list before he can become Eagle Scout. Keep up the good work Matt and thank you for the gorgeous flower beds!
The Library would like to thank the following organizations for supporting our programs: The Friends of the Town of Pelham Public Library, the Meyer Family in honor of Ted and Karin Meyer, and the Rye Country Day School.
eResource of the Month: Learning Express
Access test prep and career help for free using your library card!
This month we would like to highlight the digital resource Learning Express as it offers educational resources for all ages. Students can build skills in math, reading, and grammar and use the platform to prepare for exams, including high school equivalency, college entrance tests, graduate school, career certifications, and licensing. You can even take practice tests including ACT, AP, PSAT, SAT, and TASC. You can access Learning Express by clicking here. Sign in by using your library card number as your "user name" and your library account PIN (usually the last four digits of the phone number on your account) as your password.

  • You can also visit our digital library and select ebooks, audiobooks through Overdrive and Hoopla or stream movies through Kanopy.
  • Our librarians are always available to answer reference questions, give book recommendations and provide technology help. Notary services are available by appointment.
  • Please call the library at 914-738-1234 or email pelhamlibrary@wlsmail.org with any questions.

Tech Tip: Don't always see the newsletter? If you're a Gmail user, sometimes the platform moves the newsletter to the promotions folder. Here's a quick fix: Left-click and hold on the email and drag it from the Promotions tab over to the Primary tab. Releasing the mouse will drop the email into the Primary folder. After it is dropped, Gmail will ask if you wish to make the change permanent. Click, yes!
