Instagram Tests New ‘Add Topics’ Option in the Reels Upload Process
Instagram is trying out another way to refine its Reels recommendations, with some users now able to add topics to their Reels uploads, in order to better categorize their clips.

The DL: Instagram is back again with another Reels-related update! Some users will now be able to add topics to their uploads to categorize their videos. This new option will help creators to reach users that share their interests.

This is just another way for Instagram to showcase users' content to more engaged and personalized audiences, which will in turn boost performance. Currently, Reels is taking up 20% of all time spent within the app, with that percentage rising daily.

It's unsure whether Instagram is trying to emulate TikTok or beat the app out completely, but only time will tell... If you're looking to get into the short-form video space but are unsure where to start, contact Hoffmann Murtaugh today!
