Dear Grade Eight Families of the MS 104 Community:
Happy Friday! I hope everyone's day is going well. As we approach June, we begin to turn our attention to some wonderful events that will celebrate our graduating class. I write today to provide information on our Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremonies and Senior Prom. Please see the details below.

Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony
Our Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7th. Since our event will be held outdoors, we have set a rain date for Monday, June 12th. The ceremony will held in our schoolyard.
To ensure that we can accommodate a large number of guests, we will be holding ceremonies by HOUSE. The schedule for the day is as follows:
9:00 AM-10:00 AM- House 60 Ceremony
10:30 AM- 11:30 AM- House 70 Ceremony
12:00 PM- 1:00 PM- House 80 Ceremony
Classes WILL NOT be held for eighth grade students on the day of the ceremony. Students will report to the school at the 21st street entrance area THIRTY minutes prior to the start of their ceremony.
All students will be provided with a cap and tassel for the ceremony. We will not be having students wear gowns. While there is no official dress code, we encourage students to dress their best for this milestone moment!
Each student will be allotted FOUR tickets for FOUR guests to attend the ceremony. Graduates DO NOT require a ticket. Tickets will be provided to the students as we approach the date of the event. All guests will enter the yard at 20th street near the corner of Second Avenue. The line for entry will begin at the entry gate and go towards first avenue. Tickets will be required to enter the ceremony. Seating will be provided on a first come, first served basis. We will begin allowing guests to enter the yard approximately twenty five minutes prior to each ceremony.
A livestream of the ceremonies will be available for all family, loved ones, and friends that are not able to attend in person. A link for the livestream will be provided prior to the event.
At the conclusion of each ceremony, guests will need to vacate the yard out the 21st street gate closer to Second Avenue so that we can prepare for the next ceremony.
Finally, hosting this event in our schoolyard is a large undertaking and requires of work, especially on the morning of the event. To ensure we start on time, we will begin setting our yard at 6:30 AM on the morning of the event. We will be recruiting parent volunteers to assist with the set up and break down of the event in a message to the entire community shortly. I know it is a big ask but we would appreciate any parental support in setting up. Last year, I was amazed by the outpouring of parent support we received. We could not have set the yard without them! I am hopeful we will have another strong turnout for this year's graduation day.

Senior Prom on Friday, June 16th
We are excited to be able to host our Class of 2023 Senior Prom on Friday, June 16th from 5:45 PM-9:00 PM. The event will be held at the school and is free of charge. There will food, beverages, a DJ, dancing, two photo booths and more!
Students will enter the school at the 20th Street entrance to the building. We encourage students to arrive to the event as close to
5:45 PM as possible to ensure they can fully enjoy this special evening.
There are no official attire guidelines for the prom other than those included in the Citywide Behavioral Expectations. Historically, many students choose to dress up for the occasion but casual attire is completely acceptable. Ultimately, we want students to come to this event to enjoy themselves and dress for the event in the way families best see fit for their child for this occasion.
Hosting this event requires adult supervision and assistance with setting up, supervising the auditorium, cafeteria, hallways and restroom areas, and breaking down at the end. As the date approaches, the PTA will advertise parent volunteer opportunities. We always appreciate parent support and welcome your time towards one of the more special evenings of the year.
I am thrilled that our graduating class will be able to have this experience. They are certainly deserving of commemorating their time together in a special way and I look forward to having them celebrate together next month.

6 月 16 日星期五的高级舞会

¡Feliz viernes! Espero que el día de todos esté yendo bien. A medida que nos acercamos a junio, comenzamos a centrar nuestra atención en algunos eventos maravillosos que celebrarán nuestra clase que se gradúa. Escribo hoy para brindar información sobre nuestras ceremonias de graduación y graduación de la Clase 2023. Consulte los detalles a continuación.

Ceremonia de graduación de la clase de 2023
Nuestra Ceremonia de Graduación de la Clase 2023 está programada para el miércoles 7 de junio. Dado que nuestro evento se llevará a cabo al aire libre, hemos fijado una fecha de lluvia para el lunes 12 de junio. La ceremonia se llevará a cabo en el patio de nuestra escuela.
Para asegurarnos de que podamos acomodar a una gran cantidad de invitados, realizaremos ceremonias por CASA. El horario de la jornada es el siguiente:

NO se llevarán a cabo clases para estudiantes de octavo grado el día de la ceremonia. Los estudiantes se presentarán en la escuela en el área de entrada de la calle 21 TREINTA minutos antes del comienzo de su ceremonia.

Estaremos reclutando padres voluntarios para ayudar con la preparación y el desglose del evento en un mensaje a toda la comunidad en breve. Sé que es una gran pregunta, pero agradeceríamos el apoyo de los padres para organizarlo. El año pasado, me sorprendió la gran cantidad de apoyo de los padres que recibimos. ¡No podríamos haber ambientado el patio sin ellos! Tengo la esperanza de que tendremos otra gran participación para el día de la graduación de este año.

Fiesta de graduación del viernes 16 de junio
Estamos emocionados de poder organizar nuestro baile de graduación para personas mayores de 2023 el viernes 16 de junio de 5:45 p. m. a 9:00 p. m. El evento se llevará a cabo en la escuela y es gratuito. ¡Habrá comida, bebidas, un DJ, baile, dos fotomatones y más!
Los estudiantes ingresarán a la escuela por la entrada de la calle 20 al edificio. Alentamos a los estudiantes a llegar al evento lo más cerca posible
5:45 p. m. como sea posible para garantizar que puedan disfrutar plenamente de esta noche especial.
No existen pautas oficiales de vestimenta para el baile de graduación que no sean las incluidas en las Expectativas de comportamiento de la ciudad. Históricamente, muchos estudiantes optan por vestirse para la ocasión, pero la vestimenta informal es completamente aceptable. En última instancia, queremos que los estudiantes vengan a este evento para divertirse y vestirse para el evento de la manera que las familias mejor consideren adecuada para su hijo para esta ocasión.
La organización de este evento requiere la supervisión y asistencia de un adulto con la instalación, la supervisión del auditorio, la cafetería, los pasillos y los baños, y el desmantelamiento al final. A medida que se acerque la fecha, la PTA anunciará oportunidades de voluntariado para padres. Siempre apreciamos el apoyo de los padres y agradecemos su tiempo para una de las noches más especiales del año.
Estoy encantado de que nuestra clase de graduados pueda tener esta experiencia. Sin duda merecen conmemorar su tiempo juntos de una manera especial y espero que celebren juntos el próximo mes.
