COVID19 Vaccine Opportunities
There are many options available to receive your COVID19 vaccine if you haven't done so yet!

Jordan Valley Health Center is a great partner to our district! They have various clinics coming up AND have walk-in opportunities at their 440 E. Tampa location in Springfield Monday-Friday. Details are at https://www.jordanvalley.org/covid.

To find other clinics https://covidvaccine.mo.gov/navigator is a great resource.

As a reminder, anyone 12 and older is eligible, depending on the vaccine brand. Vaccine information can be found at https://covidvaccine.mo.gov/?fbclid=IwAR101vK6aoB2vz0nPvBlG6Va0ko7NGPXtEB65uGsquV3onYs5Vz78Enol60.

Tiger STRIPES, Tiger TEENS & Tiger PALS Enrollment July 26-August 8
STRIPES 360 is looking forward to another great school year serving our families through before and after school care programs. An initial enrollment period will take place for Tiger STRIPES, Tiger TEENS and Tiger PALS July 26-August 8.

Like many other organizations and businesses, STRIPES 360 is struggling to fill staff openings, which impacts the number of students we are able to serve. That said, to best ensure your student's spot, it is important that you register as soon as possible. Spots will be first come, first served. Within a few days from you registering you will receive communication from STRIPES 360 with either confirmation of your student's registration along with an invoice for your registration fee OR notification that your student has been placed on a waiting list.

STRIPES 360 continues to be committed to providing a fun, safe environment for students needing before and after school care. We will continue to work diligently to fill our staff openings so that we can serve as many students as possible. When we evaluate enrollment numbers on August 9, after the registration deadline, we are hopeful that there will not be a need for a waiting list. Regardless, we will keep you informed along the way.

Important Announcements from the IT Department

R AND H DRIVES MOVING TO READ ONLY JULY 30
Shared network storage areas such as the "R" and "H" drives are being phased out. This is to prevent the spread of malware and to take further advantage of Google Drive. Nothing will be erased at this time from these drives. However, all files will be set to read-only on July 30 so no new files can be added to these storage locations. Any staff members who use these drives should remove any files ASAP. Google Drive is the suggested location for the relocation of these files. Google Drive has unlimited storage, is continually backed up and is accessible from anywhere.

News from IT
SOME URLS FOR GOOGLE DRIVE DOCUMENTS MAY CHANGE SEPTEMBER 13
Google is increasing security on Google Drive this September 13.  The security change will result in the URL for many shared files and shared drives to change.  Some staff may have shared files with other individuals by providing them a link to the file rather than sharing it with them directly.  For example, you might have used the option to share to "anyone with link" or using the "get link" methods.  Those links may no longer work on September 13th.  Google is going to send an alert to the owners of files letting them know about this change, starting on July 26th.  If you get such an alert, you do not have to change anything on the file share.  You will need to let people who you want to have access to the file know that the URL has changed.  If you typed/pasted the URL in a document or one of our Learning Management Systems, such as Canvas, you would need to replace it with the new URL.  You have until September 13th to do that.  Any user that already opened the file before then, will still be able to.  This change just affects new users accessing it.  Reminder, it only affects the URL.  This does not affect anyone accessing the file if you share it with them directly, or if they access the file in a shared Drive.
Helping One of our Own
Lyon Elementary Music Teacher, Sonia Alexander suffered a stroke in early June leaving her unable to speak and unable to move the right side of her body. Doctors are indicating the road to recovery will be a long one, which indicates financial needs will be significant for the foreseeable future.

Sonia will be in intensive in-patient rehab for three weeks, followed by many more months of recovery work at home. Her husband will be unable to work in order to care for her, and her two sons are in college.

Sonia's friends and family have set-up a GoFundMe account for anyone who would like to contribute to the financial needs of her family. CLICK HERE TO DONATE
Jordan Valley School Based Clinic Coming this Fall!
Republic School District is excited to announce a school based health clinic partnership with Jordan Valley Health Centers that will kick-off for the 2021-22 school year!

We will begin the school year with one Jordan Valley community health worker available to work with our school nurses to coordinate a virtual visit with a Jordan Valley doctor or nurse practitioner for any student or employee that is sick and needs to be seen by a practitioner for the following illnesses: strep throat, ear infection, sinus infection, rash, pink eye, stomach flu, bug bites, lice and congestion. After being seen by a provider the student/employee will be able to return to class/work OR they will be given a diagnosis and will be ready to go home. If necessary, the practitioner will call in a prescription to the patient's pharmacy for them to pay for and pick-up.

This partnership is made possible primarily by funds provided by Jordan Valley Health Centers. Beyond office space for the onsite community health worker, this program has no other financial obligations for the district. Parents and employees will never receive a bill for care. If the patient has insurance, that insurance will receive the bill. If the patient does not have insurance, Jordan Valley Health Centers covers the cost of the visit and patients only have to pay for prescriptions, when needed.

This service will be optional, but available to all students and employees. Information on how to register and also additional details about the program will be shared soon. We're excited and thankful for this opportunity to partner with Jordan Valley Health Centers!

STRIPES 360 EMPLOYEES

Switching from Impero to GoGuardian
GoGuardian is a monitoring program will take the place of Impero for the 21-22 school year. This K-12 program will allow teachers to monitor students during stations and other times during independent practice to help keep them on track. This also allows the teacher to broadcast their screen so students can follow along during small and whole group lessons.

One big advantage to this program over other options is the ease-of-use platform. With minimal training required, teachers can use the program fairly easily. Click on the image to watch a video summarizing this product. In addition, Ed Techs will be providing support as the school year approaches/begins.
