September 2022 Newsletter
The first day of school was met with excitement and tears of joy. Proud parents watched their children begin another year filled with milestones as teachers look forward to another year of academic achievements. To build on our successes and strengthen the future of our students, we plan to organize more family engagement events, offer more volunteer opportunities, and inspire a love of learning in our students!
FAREWELL KATE
Thank you to Kate Brainard, Director of Adult Education, for all your hard work over the past 30 years! You have supported and inspired positive change in our organization, students' lives, and their families. You have been a fantastic leader, and we will never forget your contributions. Retirement will be a whole new and exciting opportunity for you. We still cannot believe that you will be leaving us. Best of luck on your new adventure!
BACK-TO-SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS
We love our volunteers! We are so grateful to Marathon Petroleum for helping Guadalupe students prepare for the first day of school by filling 400 backpacks with school supplies. Goldman Sachs made back-to-school feel like a celebration by putting together teacher welcome packages and hands-on educational kits for our youngest learners!
Transforming Lives Through Education
STAFF HIGHLIGHT
Ms. Runco has been with Guadalupe for eight years and is a pre-k 4's teacher. Working with young children has always been her passion! She and her teaching team enjoy preparing activities to get students excited for circle time, intentional free play, and one-on-one teaching. They are busy bumblebees from 8 am until 3 pm! Ms. Runco's position is essential to our students because she provides them with a fun, safe, and loving environment where they can grow and learn critical skills. She introduces students to play-based learning, where they discover more about reading, numbers, and social skills in a meaningful and enjoyable way. Her enthusiasm is just the beginning of how she helps students form their identity as learners and build a solid educational foundation.
