I have a sweater with our logo on it. Actually, after 17 years at the clubs, I have a few.
I like to wear them because people come up to me and share stories.
“You work there? My daughter was a member and is now at UC Davis.”
“It kept me out of trouble.”
“My kids loved the art room, that was great.”
“That is where I learned to play basketball.”
Every story is a little different but each is the same. The Clubs made a difference in their life and they are grateful.
They always say “thank you.” Not really to me, but to all of us. Every Youth Development Professional, volunteer, Board Member, and donor that makes these wonderful clubs a reality.
