PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

Emory CFAR Building a Pipeline: Health Equity Research Program for College and High School Students

The Emory CFAR CDEIPI program is led by Sophia Hussen, MD, MPH, Rhonda Holliday, PhD, MA and Alphonso Mills, BA.

This program builds on established programs at the Morehouse School of Medicine that were expanded to have an HIV research focus. The program aims to facilitate mentorship, financial support and access to Emory CFAR resources for undergraduate and high school scholars to develop the next generation of underrepresented minority (URM) researchers in HIV. In the future, the program aims to incorporate community-based opportunities for students.

ADMINISTRATIVE CORE UPDATES

The Coordinating Center (CC) sent notices to each CDEIPI team regarding the approved no cost extension (NCE) through May 31, 2023, unless the site submits a request to opt-out. The CDEIPI overview manuscript is still under review at JAIDS. JAIDS has also accepted our proposal for a supplemental issue on CDEIPI to be published in fall 2023; manuscripts will be submitted by each CDEIPI site to the CDEIPI CC by April 3, 2023.

Contact: Brandi Robinson at bnrobin@gwu.edu with any questions or concerns.

This is a friendly reminder that Quarter 4 (October, November, December 2022) aggregate data are due by 15Jan23. If you have corrections from past quarters, please let us know and we are happy to help you revise your earlier submissions.

The Evaluation Core is available to have one-to-one meetings with any of the sites that would benefit from technical assistance or individual consultation. Please email us if you would like to set up a site-specific meeting.
