"We all come to the theatre with baggage. The baggage of our daily lives, the baggage of our problems, the baggage of our tragedies, the baggage of being tired. It doesn't matter what age you are. But if our hearts get opened and released -- well that is what theatre can do, and does sometimes, and everyone is thankful when that happens."- Vanessa Redgrave

Washington State PTA offers four $2,500 scholarships to graduating seniors from Washington state public high schools with an active PTA, who will be starting college (either two-year or four-year) in the fall. Upon receiving proof of acceptance to college, WSPTA will issue a check to the school the recipient will be attending. The scholarship may be used to offset the cost of tuition, books, supplies, room and/or board.

· The name and number of the PTA/PTSA at your school
· At least three volunteer activities

Application
Students may submit a scholarship application through the online form. We encourage students to apply even if they have not decided on which specific college (either two-year or four-year) they will be attending. If the student is selected as a scholarship recipient we will verify the enrollment status prior to distributing the funds.
The application deadline is March 1 each year and scholarships are awarded by April 30.
Clink below for more details.
WSPTA Essay Contest
The contest is for students of all ages to write an essay about an influential role model that has had a profound impact on their life. The objective is to help celebrate the people that are most important in influencing the lives of children around the state of Washington.
When writing their essays, students can consider many questions including (but not limited to):
Why is this role model important in your life?
- What life lessons, ethics, or skills has this influential role model taught you?
- Why do you look up to this role model and appreciate having him or her in your life?
- How would your life be different without this role model?
- How would other kids benefit from having a similar role model in their life?
Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarship
Each year, Bellevue PTSA Council offers twelve (12) $1000 scholarships to seniors representing each high school in BSD. The Alice Hurd Memorial Scholarship recognizes outstanding community service and rewards one student from each high school a $1000 scholarship. WOLVERINE GUARD 2021-2022
|
|
The 2021-22 Wolverine Guard Program is going strong! We already have received applications and hours for some students. For those who aren’t familiar with it, WG is a Bellevue High PTSA sponsored award that recognizes students who perform 100+ hours of community service in the 12-month period from May 1st to April 30th of each school year. Students who complete the WG requirements earn a certificate of recognition and who get WG two years during high school, get a special tassel at graduation.
As a reminder: The PTSA WG program is separate from the Bellevue School District's volunteer hours requirement for graduation. However, hours that are earned to meet graduation requirements may also be used to meet WG requirements. You will need to download WG forms off of our website to both record your hours (and get supervisor’s signatures!) and the WG Application form. Thank you to those students who are supporting people through giving your time and energy. You do make a difference!
Please note that Wolverine Guard hours are subject to approval. Usually, volunteer hours need to be done for an organization with 501(c)(3) status."
